Yeah, that's fair. Although I think Klopp would rather keep Phillips than buy Kabak for more money than we'd get for Phillips.

Shaqiri, Origi, Minamino, Oxlade will also all be available to offers.

We'll need a new spine though: CD, CM, and #9.

There's a fair bit of money to make this summer, but we'll need a fair bit to spend too.

The echo have done loads of pieces on how difficult it's going to be to use our "sell to buy model" because not many are buying at the prices we want. I wouldn't be too shocked if we don't bring much new in for that reason.

Nah, in theory Kabak is essentially the perfect 4th choice. He's young and has potential but also already has experience playing international football, the Champions League, in another strong league, etc... There's a path for him to become Virgil's partner if he improves.

I'm not sure he will be 'perfect' at the 20 million being quoted in the media for a permanent transfer.

I'd be surprised if we didn't sign Kabak, assuming he continues to play at this level or better for the rest of the season. He's done OK in difficult circumstances. Some promising signs. Who else are we going to get for £18 million? Plus he'll have had half a season under his belt with the team already, which would be an advantage going into next season.

Liverpool fans have a bad habit of making a list of players that we deem surplus to requirements that we can sell in the summer with a load of prices we imagine they'd fetch.

9/10 they are either still at the club the following season, or they've ran down their contract and left on a free.

Wouldn't surprise me if we sold none of those you just mentioned.

i thought he was terrific last night. that was a leaders performance he put in. as we've all said, he's got limitations, but he makes the most of the assets he has. he's certainly been a plus this season and i would say done his chances of getting a decent club no harm at all should he choose not to stay (or FSG need to sell him to fund Mbappe).

9/10 is far too high for me.

I think it's more like 50/50.

Under Klopp??

Stephane Henchoz wouldn't be Stephane Henchoz playing in this side.

Well, I guess he would be Stephane Henchoz, but it wouldn't be pretty.

I think the fact VAR would highlight his handballs would render him redundant in today’s climate.

Henchoz is a bit of an odd comparison; Henchoz was also a far better player, different class really. Would be great but unlikely if we had a player of that quality at 4th choice.

Because Fabinho, Henderson and Jota are such dogshit.

You can argue that we'll need effective cover in those positions, but saying we'll need a new spine is silly.

Relax.

Last time I checked, the spine was the keeper, both centre backs,  3 midfielders and a #9.

I said we'll need 3 of the 7 positions brought in. And definitely NOT as cover.

Jota hasn't proved himself a number 9, Gini is off and Thiago hasn't proved himself in midfield.

If you think we have the perfect pairing for VVD, I'd respectfully disagree.

And that's if VVD returns to what he was before.

I think it's silly to suggest anything that contradicts the above.
