His post match  interview was really great and mature, terrific moment for him. But a great match does not make spring. West ham was so  poor upfront and City does not use that many long balls.

Made up for him though, he seems a nice lad.

Another little-known fact: He is the great-great grandson of Louis-Phillipe, King of the French from 1830-48.

So can we way at least a French player had been successful at Liverpool? You make my day, I’ll have cheese, baguette and wine.

Had a decent game today. Was quite dominant in the air. Makes up for his lack of pace by extending his go go gadget legs for interceptions. Obviously doesnt work all the time but still effective mostly.

Wont mind seeing him against Wolves, since he can't play in the CL.

He’s done well. Obviously quite limited player at this level, but good in the air and not too bad on the ball.

Player of his quality should be 5th or 6th choice at a club like this, and that taken into account we should be very happy with him.

He's solid and doesn't try to be somethig that he isn't. A good honest pro and he had a decent game. I would say he's shown that he is good enough to play occasionally but it could be tough viewing if he was up against a top team. At the very least, if he can help Big Bird rest like today. I actually would rest Matip against Ajax as well and have him ready for Wolves, but that seems unlikely.

He has done OK, but he is slow, really slow and that is gonna be a nightmare against better sides if he has to face them.

Yeah absolutely. Still in this type of season, it is huge to know that we have a player that can step in against the bottom 6-7 in the league and not make a show of himself.

I mean Adrian could single handedly be responsible for us dropping points at home to Fulham and Neco is not filling me with confidence, but at least Nat is solid and an outlet for Matip to get a rest. Tsimikas looks like he can do that for Robbo in the future as he looks like a potentially good player.

I wonder would we think about Lamptey in January. An outlet for Trent to get a rest or be an option in midfield for some games. Has a huge future even if he could be 40 million.

Just now, Captain Howdy said:

He should be given a new contract, he’s a specialist, bring him on for the last ten when protecting a slender lead and they’re going to aerial  bombard you.

Actually agree with this. If he's happy to be 5th choice, keep him.
