A cracking result and that is all that matters and hopefully will kick start us.

A classic team who have been in a rut win.

No fluidity, scrappy but a win.

Showed grit and determination which is needed when not playing well/suffering as we are.

It breaks rut and onwards.

That'll do.

We weren't brilliant. But, we were great in other ways. It's important to not lose the two difficult away fixtures we've got. So, it's a bonus to win the first one particularly when we've got key players missing.

Fabinho was great at the back. Robertson ran all game. Jota looked half decent again. And, Joe Gomez had a brilliant second half.

Now, it's on to the midgets!

We all would have taken that. So impressed with Jota, Minamino and Shaq when they came on. We don't need to worry too much going forward at all. Henderson offers so fucking much and when he isn't playing we don't half miss him. Fabinho is just a god. What a player. What a man. What a missus. What a god. Trent will get back to his best as well. When is Allison back?!

Best stat of the night was the 0 against Ajax’s name.

Despite having shaded the possession, we had 16 shots but didn’t look like scoring.

Most of those on target, of which there were 6, went straight at the keeper, it’s an area where we need to improve as it isn’t just this game that we have been like this.

Midfield improved a lot when Hendo came on, Fabinho held things together well at the back, Trent’s defensive play was improved and Robbo was his dependable self and thankfully, Adrian didn’t do anything too rash that cost us.

So three points against a team that’ll give others more problems than we allowed them to give us, so a good night all round.

Fabinho MOM.
