Eventful first half.

 

Robbo was absolutely superb, Mane dangerous and Fabinho dominant at the back. 
 

On the other hand, the midfield carrying Jones a bit, and Bobby didn’t do a whole lot again.

We slowly grew into the game first half. Mane and Fabinho have been great. Robertson too. 

 

Adrián has looked dodgy in possession but has actually made a couple of decent saves and some decisive punches. 

 

Firmino has done bits but still looks off the boil, for me. Milner looks like a player who hasn't started games for a while and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he picked up a second booking.

Well that was quite like expected, ok going forwards and should be able to score at least one or two more in the second half. And defensively very poor, a mediocre opponent look like scoring any time. 
 

Mane and Robertson very good, Fabinho good and the rest either average or poor. Adrian looks lost.

Looked nervy at the back especially early on. WTF was Joe doing with that ball on the edge of the box with Adrian? Take control lad.

 

Ref's a shithouse giving them everything. Blind was it conned him with that Jones 'elbow.' Milner struggling and on a yellow already, if Hendo isnt injured, get him on Jurgen!

 

Superb clearance off the line by Fabinho. Bobby, dont piss about with the ball on the edge of our box with this keeper.

At the risk of cursing him, Fabinho has been excellent at CB whenever I’ve seen him start there. If he keeps up such form and the midfield copes well without him, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to see Fabinho emerge as first choice while Van Dijk is absent and the long-term defensive partner when he returns.

Fabinho is brilliant in close quarters. So, given that fact and our keeper is more indecisive than a virgin in a brothel, would it not be better to sit off a little so we can defend our 18 yard box and keep our shape far more compact than it is.

I know we like to keep it compact by having the high line but we've not got the personnel or the ability at the moment. Keep gini and Milner in front of back 4 and have a 4 of shaq Bobby Salah and mane to counter. They've gotten through us with a straight pass a few times and it's too easy

This half has surpassed my expectation, perhaps expecting low. Anyway, off with Milner and bring on Henderson.

Great spectacle so far, probably could have had a few more and probably lucky not to have conceded. Fabinho’s been imperious, loving Wij in the 6 so classy and composed in there. Salah and mane are on fire, frightening the life out of them. Bobby’s touch looks silky tonight but could really use a goal.
