I picked up a strange story from the echo this morning. I don't normally read their stuff, but it distracted me while having my morning shit.

Liverpool's rivals have finally found a way to stop Roberto Firmino

They're basically saying Bobby is shit on his left foot and because we have thiago now, we need a real number 9.

Music to @aRdja's ears.

Bobby would miss an open goal from 1cm away from the line with a 60 mph wind directly behind his back blowing the ball directly at the goal.

I feel we really need to slam Bobby today as much as possible and invoke the law of "he'll probably fucking score now and make me look stupid" because its the only way he will score because he's playing worse than a Gary Glitter record at a kids party and he's been doing this off and on for nearly 18 months, the run of shit games followed by a good game is getting longer and longer each time. Its not just him but he's my favourite player and consistently more shit than those around him. He's absolutely wank infront of goal, he has to do no look goals because if he did look he'd miss, not being able to see actually improves his chances of scoring. An Internet neck beard simp thirsty as fuck from looking at pictures of Japanese Manga porn has more chance of scoring tonight than Bobby does. Tony Hibbert would probably lay a bet down with Bobby over who could score the most in a one on one v the keeper training session.

There's more chance of  Warwick Davis stand up 69ing Miranda Hart than Bobby scoring tonight, getting more than one! forget about it the universe doesn't deal in numbers that high.

I thought Bobby and Minamino linked up effectively and played really well against Palace, but maybe that was an outlier, dunno. Also, have we seen Minamino since?

Played against Villa and setup Gini.

Course he is

Bobby has been class at times, but can anyone say his finishing has even been above championship standard this last 12-18 months? Genuinely? Some of his attempts at finishing have been mind-bendingly shit. Like I'd expect a defender to have at least been able to work the keeper.

He needs an eye-patch.

And some have been amazing...

 A couple. In 12-18 months.

He has never been a prolific goal scorer, think he got bout 9 last season in the league? highest about 15 in his 2nd season.. problem for me is the lack of the flicks etc the spark that leads to chances for him and others just isn't there..

Part of the problem, he's a footballers footballer, a 'legend', a cult figure. When he plays he is looking to do things to play upto that.  His finish was that.  He seems bored of the notion of being normal.

Obviously the oil cheats would not sell to us but seems like Laporte is out of favour and unhappy.

He'd be boss for us if we could somehow get him though.

Klopp was asked last night if going into the transfer market would help, his answer: "These decisions are not my decisions...I cannot decide whether we do something in the transfer market or not so that must be clear."

He then did go on to say he can do it with this group, they can play much better football etc.

Yet you'll still get muppets saying it's his choice and we're saving for mbappe in the next window

Always the next window, despite talking about the next one for a few years now.

Need to see the bench before upgrading or downgrading from 14th

Seen a few knobheads saying Klopp is stubborn and come up with bizarre theories why he doesnt want to.

If we were serious about signing a centre back the groundwork would have been done once we knew VVD and Gomez were out for the season.

and we'll still have people on here saying "klopp doesn't like stop gaps", "klopp can have whatever he wants, he just has to ask", "klopp will always wait to get the player he wants, he doesn't do 2nd choices". We're not signing anyone because FSG don't want us to sign anyone, it really is that simple.

Klopp is also historically a "backs against the wall", "siege mentality", "minnows vs Bayern Munich" type manager.  A heavy metal underdog.  Revels in it.  Thrives on it.  Said it himself at Dortmund.

Perhaps the best-ever at it.

This is a perfect storm for FSG not spending money.

If this is as far as we go success-wise with Klopp, he's already done more than we could possibly have dreamt of.

Master stroke, FSG.

Agreed. I’ve typically been okay with FSG, I don’t might frugality when there’s a plan for things going wrong. Not buying a top class CB this window - even if it’s a summer target at a large premium - is just an egregiously horrendous decision, and since now top four looks improbable, we all know what happens next.

Heavy spending will be needed in the summer if we are to compete near the top next time around, but the more likely situation is high profile outgoings to cover the loss of expected income and a couple of contract renewals feted as though they’re new signings. If we let another player go they might let Klopp spend 50% of the fee.

i am fucking petrified if klopp goes. but who knows what they'll do if we don't get top 4 and who knows what klopp will do if he just gets fed up of fighting with his hands tied behind his back. If Klopp goes this summer, Arsenal awaits us.

Klopp broke our drought.  And did it big big style.

I'm pretty certain he's not in it for the dynasty.
