I think I said I would think about it. Nice memory, though.

I'm more categorical with this one. If we win the league or Champions League without getting anyone this January, I will absolutely follow through with that. I want an element of thrill and danger in this generally very shit season.

We would need amazing performances and lots and lots of luck. Just sign a defender Liverpool.

Fikayo Tomori looks like he's being loaned to AC Milan, wonder if we even enquired about a deal.

Why would Chelsea loan a player to a rival for a top 4 finish

Typical. I dived off because all I was doing was arguing. I've replied to your post, nothing insulting and already you are starting. Why?

Very convenient timing.

I shall prepare myself to be surprised.

One of the Italian papers is linking us with Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese. A midfielder/attacking midfielder. Was meant to be close to a move to Leeds but it went nowhere.

Looks decent. Scores a few. Good dribbler and would a bit of flair. Can take a bit of a kicking but just gets on with it.

We need a centre back. But, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Klopp was a bit concerned about our recent ability to break teams down and was looking for someone to take the main creative burden away from the full-backs.

But not sure if he's anything different to Thiago? Maybe patience has run out with Keita and Milner has hit the age when he's dropped off a bit.

Could be the Gini replacement?

Don't see us paying 35ml they are talking about for a player that will be 27 before the start of next season

Thiago and van Dijk say hi.

Thiago was on another level and cheaper. Van Dijk was a exception to the norm really. Most of the players we spent bigger on where 25 or under.

He's estimated to be on about 28k a week though, so we could double his wages and he'd be still be on a relatively low wage.

£35million plus 15 million over 5 years will be how FSG look at it.

Just don't see it

This team is starting to get old now. Adding more players approaching 30 won't help.

I don't see 27 being an age they'll aim at, but if the deal is right they'll do it. At the other end of the scale we have Jones, hopefully fabinho will be back in midfield soon. Henderson and thiago perhaps vying for one spot and  1 or 2 of chamberlain, keita and milner will surely go and we bring in another 2 with Gini leaving too.  If we were to bring in a 27 year old and someone between that age and Jones, I think we end up with a nice balance.

Per Schuurs has just signed an extension to his Ajax contract till 2025.

They are just trying to maximise the transfer fee they receive. There has been a lot of talk about him moving on recently so no great surprise here.

can we just get Ramos in now? pay 10m or something

First of all, welcome to the forum man.

Ramos is on very high wages and we can't afford him and he's 35, not exactly a long term solution

At least Wilson Phillips, and yes, Chynna Phillips looked good then and now.

Well, it's not wrong. Next, we need someone better and more reliable than Keita.

Thanks. do we need a long term solution? wages are not an issue for a short term signing. 18 month deal. wait til sepp is ready.

Klopp clearly mentioned no short term thinking and he has history of waiting instead of panic buying. So it's a definite no.

I know some of us want the lads to start using the dark arts more but this would be taking that type of philosophy to the extreme, never happening.

The cunt.

    • Milenkovic would be.   Only young with a relatively low fee and moderate wages. Fiorentina are finishing way outside the European spots, so will be under pressure to sell and get the best deal they can for arguably their biggest current asset. I can't see Milenkovic signing a new contract with them, and I reckon he'll be on the move come the summer.   Can play both centre back and right back. Good in the air and very strong. Picks up a few bookings though.   Could certainly see him being a player we'd look at.
    • From what I've seen, Tuchel thus far has essentially given them a good shape and organized them well, but they've had little goal threat. This is one where if we can not shoot ourselves in the foot we will do well.
    • Wasnt there another one, a sign that said "Jesus Saves" followed by someone writing "but St John scores the rebound"
    • Couldn’t agree more it’s just so fucking boring.  Nobody will be watching them.  They don’t have fans and they don’t have a genuine rivalry.  Fans would rather City win the league than their own genuine rivals.  People aren’t watching them because nobody else has got a chance of winning the league.  The premier league will be getting very worried about it I think.  If they don’t have the viewing figures from Sky then they can expect to be receiving them.   Just had a look at the offside that everyone is calling on.  It’s comical really.  It looks to me like VAR have tried their hardest to give it.  The line is drawn from the inside of Laporte’s shoulder and he’s still offside.  Compare that to Van Dijk against United where it’s half way down his arm or even Mane against Everton or Firmino against Leicester where the line is drawn not actually touching their own body.  He’s offside under the rules and more offside than most given this season.
