That it's happening at all is one thing, but the fact it's at an advanced stage tells a lot. No way it happens at all unless Klopp is willing to let him go.

As for Minamino - he has just never been able to nail a spot down has he, even when he has played he's been wedged in in different roles, so never been able to settle.

 

But even with that being case, he clearly isn't up to it, has looked overawed often.

 

He may do OK at Soton if he gets some regular game time in a regular position, something he was never gonna get or importantly force here.

I did wonder for a while had we decided to loan him out this window. Klopp loves players to get some rhythm and if he knows minamino is likely to go, he's not invested to give him minutes.
