I guess waiting has got them the cheaper fee. That Chris Williams when we asked about him a few months back they wanted 35ml. Now it's 18ml. Let's face it the CB didn't cost us the points over Xmas. The whole team looked flat. Hopefully he looks the player the scouts think he is

Want a new goalkeeper? Yes? No?

Well here you go:

Liverpool have completed the signing of 19-year-old goalkeeper Liam Hughes from Celtic. One for the U23 setup.

We seem to be really going out of our way to piss Celtic off. First a CB, now a GK.

Maybe Stevie is pulling the strings behind the scenes.

From the Daily Record.

Gutted Neil Lennon admits Liverpool's late push for Ben Davies has left his side scrambling to find a central defensive alternative.

The Premiership champions believed they were in the driving seat to secure the 25-year-old Preston defender on a pre-contract before Jurgen Klopp stepped in to "gazump" them.

How can you be gazumped when you weren’t paying anything, just trying to sign him on a pre-contract agreement?

I called Salahs signing shite so I'm hoping for a similar turn of luck

To be fair, we aren't doing this because of how he's currently playing. He has a lot of talent and this could be a steal. The deal also protects us if he's a disaster. There's not much downside.

Seems an odd deal from Schalke's point of view?

Yeah that's the weird thing?

They are getting almost nothing for him in terms of a loan fee, and if he's really good we can get him for £18 million, whereas if he's shite we can send him back and nobody will want him?

Loan with an option to buy would be much better than obligation to buy. I can't see any problem with this and it's a good deal for us.

If we have to buy him in the summer then it's really a 50/50 deal. This fucker is wild and would make Lovren look like Van Dijk. I hope we don't have to buy him and are keeping our powder dry for a top class centre back for next season.

Like most clubs they have financial issues and nobody offered a better deal.

The club have gotten themselves into serious financial trouble in part by trying to spend their way into Europe. Schalke have amassed debts in the range of €200 million ($225 million), a burden not made easier by the financial pressures brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.1 Jul 2020

With our luck, he’ll probably injure our entire forward line in training. Schalke really wanted to get rid, didn’t they? I actually hate this signing.

He's 20 years old and before being infected by the Schalke stink (which he is also part of, it must be said), he was a big prospect. This is boom or bust, but it could be really good.

How does the tiny loan fee we have offered them help though?

Just looking at the Bundesliga and Schalke have won 1 game out of 19 and conceded 49 goals!
