Bobby has been class at times, but can anyone say his finishing has even been above championship standard this last 12-18 months? Genuinely? Some of his attempts at finishing have been mind-bendingly shit. Like I'd expect a defender to have at least been able to work the keeper.

He needs an eye-patch.

Klopp was asked last night if going into the transfer market would help, his answer: "These decisions are not my decisions...I cannot decide whether we do something in the transfer market or not so that must be clear."

He then did go on to say he can do it with this group, they can play much better football etc.

Yet you'll still get muppets saying it's his choice and we're saving for mbappe in the next window

Always the next window, despite talking about the next one for a few years now.

Need to see the bench before upgrading or downgrading from 14th

Seen a few knobheads saying Klopp is stubborn and come up with bizarre theories why he doesnt want to.

If we were serious about signing a centre back the groundwork would have been done once we knew VVD and Gomez were out for the season.

and we'll still have people on here saying "klopp doesn't like stop gaps", "klopp can have whatever he wants, he just has to ask", "klopp will always wait to get the player he wants, he doesn't do 2nd choices". We're not signing anyone because FSG don't want us to sign anyone, it really is that simple.

Klopp is also historically a "backs against the wall", "siege mentality", "minnows vs Bayern Munich" type manager.  A heavy metal underdog.  Revels in it.  Thrives on it.  Said it himself at Dortmund.

Perhaps the best-ever at it.

This is a perfect storm for FSG not spending money.

If this is as far as we go success-wise with Klopp, he's already done more than we could possibly have dreamt of.

Master stroke, FSG.

Agreed. I’ve typically been okay with FSG, I don’t might frugality when there’s a plan for things going wrong. Not buying a top class CB this window - even if it’s a summer target at a large premium - is just an egregiously horrendous decision, and since now top four looks improbable, we all know what happens next.

Heavy spending will be needed in the summer if we are to compete near the top next time around, but the more likely situation is high profile outgoings to cover the loss of expected income and a couple of contract renewals feted as though they’re new signings. If we let another player go they might let Klopp spend 50% of the fee.

i am fucking petrified if klopp goes. but who knows what they'll do if we don't get top 4 and who knows what klopp will do if he just gets fed up of fighting with his hands tied behind his back. If Klopp goes this summer, Arsenal awaits us.

Klopp broke our drought.  And did it big big style.

I'm pretty certain he's not in it for the dynasty.

We won't be signing in the summer, they're already at it in the press saying about the players contracts and we're concerned of the impact of covid. it'll be dressed up getting a couple of the players to sign new contracts as a win. the only way money will go out of the door this summer is if they flog off one of the stars. It'll be covid, no CL/reduced TV for being shit/paying for the training ground/paying for more pictures of the annie road/the price of traffic cones for the annie road car park. These cunts have been running the club on a shoestring since they got here. Klopp has come in and given us all a great time, but as I said on another thread - he's not fucking Jesus, he's not turning water to wine whenever he wants. Miracles won't go on forever. We made a great leap forward as a team when we bought 2 absolutely top class players (which was financed by selling 1 top class player). The way to progress is easy to see. But while money isn't flowing down from Madrid and Barca, our investment model is fucked unless we start selling to City again.

Should have just took the pair out the back of Anfield and stuck them in front of a firing squad.

But seriously, what are we paying for?  What are we wasting our time and money on by curating u21,u19,u17 etc?  A centre back. That's all we were asking for.  One half decent centre back.
