I would play Koumetio ahead of the other two. Strong, big and fast. Kid or not.

Crazy situation we’re in.

From the little I’ve seen from Koumetio he hasnt looked even remotely ready. Williams and Phillips have looked miles better.

Billy could well be the biggest talent and turn out the best player long term, but he’d looked totally lost in the few games he’s played.

You may be right but the other two are nowhere near, unfair on the big kid but true.

Philips is a good old fashioned Championship player.

Didn't Klopp already come out and say he'd like to sign a centre back but due to covid the club has no money?

Or have I imagined that?

Even if the club has no money, I'm sure our owners aren't shy of a few quid. Maybe they could buy the club a new CB?

Consider it an advance on the obscene profit they're going to make on their initial 300m investment when they eventually sell the club.

According to the Echo today, Jota is going to be like a January signing.

Pretend he's got a bad back and cry with his international team-mates before watching his career go down the drain at Barcelona?

Not worked out at Real, apparently available on loan with spurs keen, should be all over that.

Varane came off injured in their game last night. It was at half time and the commentators had no idea how serious the injury was. Nacho came on for him ahead of Militao so maybe even with depleted numbers they'd still be happy to send him out on loan.

Jokes aside - it does feel wrong to me to be gambling as it looks like we are.

It was a fucking long hard slog to finally get back on our perch - we need to do everything we can to stay on it.

That's because you will measure the season based on on-field performance. That is not the measure at LFC, it's how we operate off the field that matters most. Those things don't have to be mutually exclusive, but when they are, the side of off-field success will always come first.

More and more the leaks from the club are Tom Hicks style "it'll be a big summer", it's incredible how gullible our fans are. The only reason the summer will be big is if we have a big exit.

Saw a few FSG fanboys on Twatter dayingbtge reason we cant buy anyone is because we would have to drop Origi or Adrian from the non home grown quota. Because they have been vital to the season so far haven't they.

The echo have been repeating the message origi has to go to fund any incoming player. As for the foreign quota, surely that's only true of foreign players. It's not like it's the law you can only bring in players from abroad.

I wonder how long the new work permit thing will take for approval.

It's even more reason to get rid of both of them.

Our back up keeper should always be a home grown player. Somebody like a Tom Heaton or Joe Hart would do.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defensive options before the January window shuts.

According to a report on Sky Sports, as cited in the Daily Mirror, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claims that Klopp’s men are exploring the possibility of signing Maksimovic. The Reds have been rocked by injuries at the back this season, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez out long-term. Joel Matip has also been struggling with numerous different issues.

That has led to Klopp using the likes Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips, while Jordan Henderson has also filled in.

Several names continue to be linked with a switch to Merseyside, including the likes of Ben White, Sven Botman, Ozan Kabak and David Alaba. However, it would appear that Maksimovic has emerged as a genuine contender to head to Anfield. The 29-year-old Serbian international has stood out during the injury absence of former Reds target Kalidou Koulibaly.

He joined Napoli in the summer of 2017 when he made the switch from fellow Serie A outfit Torino. Maksimovic has racked up 85 appearances for the club and played 13 times in all competitions this season. His contract also expires at the end of the season, meaning he could be available for a bargain price this month. The report does add, however, that after initial enquries, Liverpool are yet to follow-up their interest.

So is the latest story we can't cover the 2.5 million loan fee for this Militao lad?

Not sure we are actually interested in him. All the reports and rumours seem to be fans saying it's a no brainer or the odd journalist saying we should go for him.

I'm fully expecting James Pearce or Melissa Reddy to say he isn't a target because he doesnt meet FSG's strict guidelines on new signings. Because his elbows are too pointy or signing him would eventually block someone coming through from the academy in 3 years time.

We have plenty of fringe players we can offload in the summer, even for buttons that could cover the loan fee.

We are expecting £5m for Awoniyi, someone who has never played a game for us.
