We need a new GK, Adrian is worse than useless.

It is hard to think of who we could go for

League leaders being linked with 3, hopefully after they have chosen we could go for a cast off;

Everton have enquired about Roma's Robin Olsen as they look to sign a goalkeeper on deadline day.

Any deal for the 30-year-old Sweden international, who spent last season on loan at Cagliari, is likely to be a loan.

The Toffees have also enquired about Manchester United's Sergio Romero and Tottenham's Paulo Gazzaniga.

When we signed Adrian as a free agent a few days before transfer deadline last summer,  he had been availible for other clubs all summer.

There is an obvious reason for this, the same reason he lost his spot at West Ham, and they did not do much to keep him on.

He’s shite, we brought him in because he was cheap and availible, nothing else.

He should never play for this club again, enough is enough.

We kept him because he is cheap and we gambled he wouldn't need to play in important games.

Joining the Goodison Galacticos even as 4th choice keeper is better than going anywhere else even as 1st choice.

Fully expect the champions elect to buy all 3

Olsen would have been a decent alternative for us, even if he's not much better than Adrian with his feet. Good transfer for Everton though, he's much better than Pickford at stopping the ball from going into the net. He'll have a few issues with his dealing with crosses/set pieces etc, as he's built a bit like de Gea and not really a dominating figure. He's 6 5', so he's definitely improving them in terms of reach...

Orjan Nyland at Villa (no longer) is probably a better keeper than Adrian, but he's injured at the minute. By the time he would be fully fit and acclimatised Allison would be back in goal anyway.

Very good secondary keepers are as rare as rocking horse shit.  There is always a drop off. About the best out there recently was Martinez, and he'd rather be first choice at Villa than second choice at Arsenal. Good keepers want to play, simple as. So the second string are much of a muchness, be it Adrian or any other second keeper in the league.

Yeah this is correct. The only time there is not much of a drop off between two goalkeepers is when you're struggling to find a number one which we have had numerous times down the years.

It's mad how shit the majority of keepers are, I would have imagined there should be a surplus of decent ones because there's so few jobs up for grabs, and it's not like you can become more versatile and play in a slightly different position to get on the pitch.

Well I've just woken to the news that we haven't signed a keeper! I find this careless bordering on neglectful!

I'm not going to go as far as the post above suggesting relegation, but if we continue with dozy hole in goal, the high line, and Gomez continues his current brain farts we will be firmly stuck in mid-table by the time Becker and Matip are back!

We looking to be trying undo all the good work of the last 3 seasons in 1 fell swoop!

Just don't play Adrian in the game the way you do Alisson.  Adrian just fucking hoof it if needs be or players hoof it too rather than pass it back unless its the only option, don't pass to him under pressure. Accept his limitations by limiting his involvement in the game. Poor excuse for one player to have such a detrimental effect to the entire team. In terms of keepers the derby is now on equal footing.

Any team with half a brain is going to press like fuck any time ball goes near Adrian now , he is so bad with his feet thst i would not back him to even manage to hoof it away every time....so we need to keep the ball away from his feet pretty much at all costs.

What that means for our style of play of course is a potential problem, but one Klopp et al need to work out.

Pickford is far superior to Adrian . That's how bad it has become.

Thats a debate to be had...Pickford makes those types of mistakes in a lot of games...his mistake v Brighton at weekend a child wouldn't make. Origis, was comical. I think the guy is an absolute clown, after each mistake he looks around as if to blame someone else. Think fans have more than enough of him, he blows up in Derby he could be benched.

Much of a muchness...

PL appearances: Pickford 149, 38 clean sheets

PL appearances: Adrian 139, 37 clean sheets

This was effort v Fleetwood town

I remember last year saying that having Adrian in goal was better than Mignolet purely because of the amount of mistakes Mignolet made meant the team didn't trust him.

Now we are in the same situation with Adrian. Any new goalkeeper coming in would be 'better' on the basis that they would be given a fresh start.

Its absolutely crazy to go in to a 6 week period of games facing Everton, Man City, Atalanta and Ajax with Adrian in goal.

Surely even now we could sign somebody like Tim Krul, Asmir Begović or Ben Foster if we pulled our finger out?

I remember when back pass rule changed and keepers struggled like fuck as it was brand new to them to not be able to just pick it up....he is literally worse with his feet than keepers then having to adapt to something new were.

It's almost unbelievable how bad he is, you'd think a modern day keeper would have some reasonable level of ability with his feet.
