We need a new GK, Adrian is worse than useless.

Very good secondary keepers are as rare as rocking horse shit.  There is always a drop off. About the best out there recently was Martinez, and he'd rather be first choice at Villa than second choice at Arsenal. Good keepers want to play, simple as. So the second string are much of a muchness, be it Adrian or any other second keeper in the league.

Yep, a lot of people thinking bringing in someone else's back up is going to solve the problem. Id also put Henderson of united in that class you mention above. They had to put him on 150 grand a week and a promise he'll get his chance against de gea, although that remains to be seen, when his loan at Sheffield United ended and option to retain him.

When we signed Adrian as a free agent a few days before transfer deadline last summer,  he had been availible for other clubs all summer.

There is an obvious reason for this, the same reason he lost his spot at West Ham, and they did not do much to keep him on.

He’s shite, we brought him in because he was cheap and availible, nothing else.

He should never play for this club again, enough is enough.

Problem is as it stands we have no choice.

We don't not have a choice.

Everton have decided enough is enough and they are getting a keeper today

What i meant was as it stands we have only Adrian as an option.

I'd love to see us get someone and feel we need to desperately, but just can't see it.

Yes, I'm acutely aware that the cool kids will give Adrian no credit for victories but all the blame for defeats.

Thanks for acknowledging my coolness.

Here is a cool fact for your enjoyment -

"Adrian has made five errors directly leading to goals in his 21 appearances for Liverpool – as many as first-choice Alisson has in 92 games."

So he is basically costing us on average a goal every 4 games compared to every 18 for Alisson. So cool.

And there have also been numerous errors which luckily didn't lead to goals as seen in the 2 minute video posted in this thread.

Everton have probably been working on keepers for a while, Pickford has been shite forever. We were set on tolerating Adrian for the couple games he would play here and there, but when Alisson goes down for a month or two a single day before the transfer window closes, there's kind of nothing you can do. Transfers are prepared in advance, surely you can't out of the blue call a club the day the deadline is ending and expect a good deal.

Maybe it was a mistake to even keep Adrian after what he did against Atletico, but that's hindsight. He was given a two year deal when he signed last summer and the club was always gonna honour that.

There was a time pre- Covid that we could have pulled the trigger on Adrian - even his camp was talking about a return to Spain. Now it is way, way too late.

Presumably the idea of playing in Tercera Andaluza wasn't quite as appealing as sitting on the bench at the best team in the world and collecting a few more medals.

Just a wild guess but I doubt we will buy another keeper

Agreed.  Jurgen always goes the extra mile in terms of loyalty to players who are doing their best and I don't see him changing his approach any time soon.
