Prime Suspect was similar in that the first few of them were really good (especially the first one which was brilliant)  then the later one’s are also pretty shite ..

I remember seeing the first one of those years ago, thought it was good though I never watched more. Cracker peaks around the middle

The first 3 are fantastic, 4 was a bit disappointing as it had 3 shorter stories rather than one long one. 5- the one based in Manchester with a criminal called 'The Street' was pretty shit. 6- about Bosnia- wasn't bad but nowhere near the quality of the first few. 7 was really good though, with a washed up Tennison barely hanging on.

I can't remember which one it was but the one with Peter Capaldi and David Thewlis was excellent. Superb actors
