Greatest Male Solo Artists Tournament

I know the music tournaments have swamped the GF a bit but I want to start the Male Solo one next weekend.

I'll try and keep it democratic this time so please list your 10 selections. I will only take the 10 first people you list so if you (like a few people in the bands one) decide to start throwing additional picks in I'll not count them.

Any genre as well singers or singers with an instrument. They will be judged on the quality of songs so any arguments to say well Springsteen plays guitar so by default should be better than Ben E King or Michael Jackson for example isn't on. I will take picks up until 9pm on Friday night and will sort the final list on Saturday and kick it off. Please try and just list 10 in one post. Ideally want 64. I might have to make some decisions depending on what the list looks like after choices. Feel free to add a few left-field picks or we will only end up with about 20, chosen a hundred times.

Mine:

Elton John

Frank Sinatra

2Pac

John Lennon

Michal Jackson

Marvin Gaye

Phil Collins

Buddy Holly

Bob Dylan

Sting (Fuck off, I like the Field of Gold album)

Some of these guys had backing bands on their tracks, but I consider them to be solo artists as per how their music was officially credited.

Marvin Gaye

Stevie Wonder

Bill Withers

Michael Jackson

Prince

James Brown

Elton John

Elvis Presley

Johnny Cash

Barry White
