Fabalicious?

Isn't in our best 11 - is first guy in for two of the positions.

Come on, there's being wrong, then there's being wrong .. best in the world in his position.

After years of somewhat limited choices we now have a decent level of quality.

With everyone healthy who do you see on THE BENCH!!

For me:

Adrian

Fabinho

Keita

Jones

Minamino

Jota

Williams/Tsimikas

That leaves players the quality of Matip, Milner, Ox, Shaq, Origi to plug in when there are injuries.

Seems like we need a longer bench.

It's difficult to see Milner not making the bench more often than not. Hard to see how Oxlade-Chamberlain gets much game time this season assuming Jones is going to get significantly more minutes than last season. I like the idea of having Shaqiri on the bench as he's a bit of a wildcard but it's hard to make a strong argument for it.

I just think we've got a strong looking squad now and we might even find that the team that plays at home against Man City is somewhat different to the one that starts at the Etihad, let alone against relegation strugglers.

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson and Van Dijk are the only players I would be particularly surprised to see being rotated or switched positions for tactical / personnel reasons in a league game or rested just because we can.

I don't think there's much argument that our first-choice XI would be

Alisson

Trent

Virg

Joe or Joel

Robbo

Three from Hendo, Gini, Fabinho & Thiago (maybe Jones is getting onto that shortlist, too?)

Three from Mo, Sadio, Bobby & Jota

We haven't started a match with our first-choice XI this season.  And yet, here we are - top of the league, having also topped our Champions League group.

We're good.
