Leslie Nielsen in Airplane! At the time, he wasn't known for comedic acting and even in this film, he basically plays it straight. But how well does it work!

They're the best comedy films. Brian in Life of Brian plays a serious fella throughout while all around him everything is going to shit.

not sure when or which film it started but the move of Matthew McConaughey from shit Rom Com actor to the what he is now was a brilliant choice.

To be fair he did A Time to Kill 7 years before How to Lose a Guy in 10 days....

Superb actor though, I love him. Cool guy in real life as well.

Ah right fair enough. Not seen A time to kill... will need to add it to the list.

Superb film. Plays a lawyer in the deep south defending a black guy accused of killing two white fellas who raped and killed his daughter. Sandra Bullock and Kevin Spacey are in it as well.

So is Samuel L Jackson but it's a 90's movie so you would have known that anyway.

The adults cast in the Harry Potter films were virtually perfect, especially Alan Rickman as Severus Snape. Just a shame Richard Harris died. He was a much better Dumbledore that Michael Gambon.

Alan Rickman in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was brilliant.

Completely over the top.

Nah, just that Gambon was downright weird in the Dumbledore role. Harris was a calm, stately figure, Gambon over the top and neurotic.

Oh, totally fucked it up. Harris was perfect as a choice. Gambon thought he was playing John McClane from Die Hard.
