Our third league game of the season is a repeat of our third league game last season. We beat the Gunners comfortably 3-1 last year with goals from Big Bird and Mo, and it could easily have been more. In the charts, Shaun Mendes and Camilla Cabelo were No1 with 'Senorita'.

But, let me take you back to our first Premier League win at Anfield against this lot. It took until Evans' first full season in charge in 1994/95, and it was the first home game of the season. We had just tonked Palace 6-1 at Selhurst Park on the opening day. We had a young whippersnapper from Toxteth called Robbie Fowler up front who'd already shown himself to be a fine finisher, but it was the 1994/95 season where he would establish himself as a mainstay by going on to score 31 goals, 25 of which were in the league. 3 of them would arrive in less than 5 minutes in this game. He was such a breath of fresh air.

At the time, the nation had lost its mind and kept buying 'Love Is All Around' by Wet Wet Wet, which stayed at the top of the charts from the beginning of June to the middle of September - a massive 15 weeks - all because women all over the country lost their shit over a typical British rom-com. As is the thread theme for this year, a video of said song has to be included even when I don't like it.

We just need to keep doing what we've been doing to Arsenal at Anfield in recent years. Beat the shit out of them. We finished a massive 43 points ahead of them last season, so demonstrate just why that is. The League Cup fixture a few days later will most likely have a completely different starting XI, but the focus is the league game, which will start at 8pm rather than the original 8:15pm in order for people watching in pubs to be able to beat the 10pm pub curfew.

You do a fine job on these fella, thanks

Funnily enough because that was meant to be Emery's style, Arteta has made them pretty electric on the counter. I remember when we always turned them over and rubbed their bellies under Emery, we'd shut them out to the point Aubameyang would have like 10 touches of the ball in entire games against us. Now they get him involved more and have the wing backs get up the pitch real quickly. But if we control the midfield adequately enough, we should win pretty comfortably.

We outplayed these twice and got fuck all. I'll be livid if we drop anything against these they are nowhere near our level but people outside the club talk about them like they are equal to us or even close.

Smash them so hard cracks begin to show in Artetas hair.

Yes.

They look like a side that might be equal to Houllier’s Liverpool, not this one. It would be close to disgraceful to go a third game without beating them.

Really want to get these beat.

Pissed off at how we gifted them a win in league at end of season when they played absolute shite and pissed off at charity shield lark.

Couldn't give a fuck about the friendiy game.   Pissing away a record points total against a poor team with a shit manager was infuriating however.

They're no threat whatsoever unless we yet again hand them the points on a platter.

If thiago plays, we need to protect his lack of turning speed when they hit us on the break. They've at least 4 quick cunts who will run off the back of him if we're not careful. I would play Gómez and Fabinho in the 6 with thiago alongside or just ahead, play with a more defined 2 and a 1 instead of the flattish 3 we normally have.

Twelvety nil to the goonners

Arsenal are one of several clubs benefitting from no crowds. It allows Arteta to play this deep lying counter attacking game which wouldn't be acceptable for the home crowd or the faithful gooner away contingent.

Expect things to change when crowds are back.

I don't buy that. Crowds accept winning football

That theory worked well for us under Houllier.

For fucks sake. I hope Alli and Thiago are alright. I really want to batter these cunts, since they beat us last season and won the community shield they've been talking as if they have our number.

If they arent fit...

Adrian, Trent, Gomez, Virg, Robbo, Fabinho, Gini, Keita, Salah, Bobby, Mane.

Wouldn't mind seeing Jones in over Naby either to be honest.
