Didn't Jamie Vardy miss like three games after a hernia op ? In our medical teams hands that could be a career ending injury

Dont disagree with you often mate but, nah, not having that. A lot depends on how big the hernia was and what his pain threshold is like.

If it was a small one and they pumped him full of painkillers and the fixtures fell over a period for him, he might have been able to 'play' through it.

True  but you just get pissed off when someone is out for a minor injury and it turns out to be a month or more .

Maybe it's just a season in which every injury just gets highlighted a lot more

i honestly think they don't have a clue. i am pretty sure alisson came back from his injury earlier in the season 2 weeks early. our medical team must share the same PR team as PGMOL.

But he had an actual hernia op on Jan 23rd and returned to playing on 7th Feb

But doesnt tell the whole story as to the type of hernia, how big a rupture it was, whether they pumped him full of painkillers, how effective he was in the games immediately after etc, etc as I said.

Then people say we rush our injured back too quickly!

But hey, if people want to make out that Leicester have a better medical department now than us or, that other team's players magically recover from ops faster than ours, knock yourselves out.

Why so defensive Dockers? Our injury record is abysmal so something is amiss. Either a poor medical department or we are buying crocks. There is something that needs looking at and amending.

Don’t think it’s that much worse than other clubs over the past few seasons.

Im just trying to show a level playing field. We hardly know anything about other club's medical department. It just seems to me almost everyone wants to give the club a kicking over something.

Our injury record is abysmal? Where have people been these last 3 or 4 years? Our players have been to 3 European finals, 2 of them CL in the last 3 years and put in a supreme effort over 2 league campaigns, one of which saw us lose a title by 1 point out of 100 and win the other by 18 points.

What have Leicester and Vardy done?

He was effective enough after it to score v us....

But that aside Rodgers was quite open about fact he had had problem for a good while and they were managing it as best as they could, but got to stage where they decided he had to have the op.

They probably knew it was a bad injury but didn't want the fans to know because we'd be expecting big John to buy somebody in January.

Needlessly playing him in that dead rubber has been almost as damaging to our season as the Van Dijk injury. He's the only player other than Salah who has scored with any consistency this season.

Still, what are the odds of a particular player getting a 3 month+ injury in a single game that didn't seem as important as others surrounding it?

I understand the criticism of Klopp for that decision, but fucking hell, it's just typical of this season that almost the worst case scenario happened. Again.

You can't predict it but given how quickly the games come in this season everyone was delighted we had a dead rubber at the time to give players a much needed rest but we didn't do it.

My guess was that we were chasing the prize money for winning the game and that might not have been just Klopp's call.

He wouldn't shut up about the 5 subs and the Saturday early kick offs.

We then get THE perfect dead rubber and he starts 4 valuable first teamers.

Shockingly shit from Klopp.

I still think literally any manager would have played a mix of first team players in that game. They all do it because you get lots of money from those games. The Jota injury was just more bad luck on top of bad luck. Discussing it leads to nothing. If we're in the Champions League next year and get in a similar situation, we'll do the same thing.
