I'm prepared for the backlash but this as meant to be Green Day vs Simon & Garfunkel but.... They were a duo not a band, I listened to Tony.

But I said they should be included because Pet Shop Boys, a duo, were in the British Tournament.

Oh well, never listened to either of these, so I will abstain.

Oh did you? Oh well fuck it. Some cunt would have complained. They always do.

Cornell, Morello and co will have inspired a comparable number of kids as Green Day, but not with this project.

Don't listen to them as much as I did as a kid but that's mainly because I wore out all those albums (still love Kerplunk, Insomniac and - to an extent - American Idiot). A lot of the snobbishness around them always seems to be more resentment over all the turgid She covers people were subjected to back in the day, rather than anything they did themselves.  Bunch of kids that did their thing, with a lovesick songwriter that meant they sang about more than the usual punk/grunge cliches and got big. Came through the same scene that produced Operation Ivy and Neurosis.

Code, you got your wish. Shame they will get knocked-out by fucking Green Day

You listened to Tony yet he'll come on here in a bit and say he's never heard of either.

Anyway, Green Day.

Edit. Didn't see Tony had already been in and commented. I was right though!

Ha ha. Cheeky get! I’m not an expert by any means but I know a fair amount about the music I’m into. I’d never claim to have an ‘eclectic taste in music’ but I do like various genres.
