Always felt the Strokes were like patient zero for all those 00s indie bands that were actually highly trained and carefully curated, related to execs etc. Plus Jo Whiley used to play Last Night every damn day when I was on the bus back from college, developed a real hatred of it.

In reality they were all right. Had a couple of good tunes.

The Byrds, mainly because I don’t like The Strokes.

Actually, I don’t dislike them but I don’t like them either. I don’t get what all the hype about them when they first came out was all about. If I’d picked up Is This It with no idea of the band before hand, I’d probably have thought it was a decent little indie album. It’s certainly nowhere the life altering, band of a generation that NME made them out to be.

IMO, they are merely Ok. Nothing more, nothing less.

Always liked the Strokes, decent tunage and made no bones of the fact they we're sired of New York's media elite. Lets not forget The Byrds were just as 'curated' with a brief to popularise Bob Dylan songs and few hymns before psychedelia took hold. Both massively influential for different reasons. It's a close one.

Voted for The Strokes in the end, purely because The Byrd's couldn't pronounce 'Rhymni' properly. I'm immediately regretting it.
