Arsenal (N) Charity Shield - 29/8/20 - 16:30

Never that arsed about the Charity Shield but really hope the Reds win and then Jurgen organises a photo shoot on Monday morning with the PL , CL , Super Cup , World Club Cup trophies and the Shield.

The resultant fume from every other fan base on social media would be so funny.

I don't think Bayern are gonna loan is the CL, unless we use the one we've kept from 05.

Reckon they'll try the same tactics as they did at their place at the end of the season - sit deep and hope our defenders make a mistake. They'll defo target Gomez, who has become surprisingly flaky when put under pressure in possession, and chance their arm with little nudges and pulls, hoping that the ref doesn't spot them. That said, I think the result will depend on how arsed we are. If we fancy it, we'll twat them, if not, they'll nick it.

The game will heavily depends on each team fitness. Strange preseason , not sure the two are on the same step to get ready.

What have the gunners done during friendlies ?

Beat MK Dons 4-1 this week. That's the extent of their pre season.

That's the one Grinch. Ours for keeps.

And so is the Madrid one.  All winners since about 2009 get a full-size replica which is the one that gets engraved and presented as the trophy at the final. UEFA have two which are used for promotional purposes. So we have four 80% replicas which we commissioned ourselves, the 2005 original trophy and the full size replica from last year.

The anagram thing is sooo last season, so we're changing it up a little. I still won't be asking for much.

12th August 1989 was the last time we met Arsenal in the Charity/Community Shield at Wembley. The song that was No1 in the UK charts back then was 'Swing The Mood' by Jive Bunny. I'm almost certain it was utterly shit, but here's the video anyway to confirm it.

We played each other in the Community Shield in Cardiff in 2002, but 1989 was the last Wembley meeting. We have a very shit record at the new Wembley, having won just 2 out of 6 matches there (and one of those was a penalty shoot-out). We need to start correcting that, and we also owe Arsenal for the spawny post-lockdown shitfest that took away our chance to exceed 100 points in the league.

That’s a bold move, Billy. Let’s see if it pays off...

Interesting that Koumetio is on the bench. He's maybe jumped Hoever and van den Berg.

Hoever is apparently injured, but you may be right about van den Berg and maybe even Phillips
