Thinking back across the entirety of your football-watching life, which player(s) are irrevocably linked in your mind to an abomination of a goal celebration?

 

I’ll start with:

 

David “Thank You For Your Cooperation” Platt’s oft-deployed limp-wristed flourish, which I can’t seem to find video evidence of, although a Google search tells me that it did exist.

 

Lee Sharpe’s corner flag fellatio / Elvis impersonator routine. A gyrating monstrously that lingers with far more resonance than anything else about his mediocre career.

Yep, defo agree with that. It's the over elaborate ones that are worst.

 

And always liked Shearer's, too. It was similar to the way Fowler celebrated a lot of his goals.
