When you have 90s also rans such as Suede in there & bands who completely changed music like King Crimson missing, I think it's fair to say the tournament is 90s centric.

 

It's been great for the forum though so no complaints from me, merely an observation.

Neither of these groups should be in a 'best of' British bands. Both are decent but they are nothing special,either of them.

I think both are brilliant bands. They had a huge impact in the 90s - as corny as it was the battle for number 1 was on the Six O'clock News and stuff. It was a bit naff but the whole Britpop thing was massive and these were the two leaders of the pack. 

 

I just think it's a bit revisionist to say "they're shit". Pretty much every person in the country bought Morning Glory. The mid to late 90s was an exciting time for music in this country - there was good guitar music in the charts consistently. I mean, just look at the shite in the charts now.
