What unprepossessing bedfellows we tolerate when Everton are doing well - their start is becoming mildly irritating.

Oh well, we'd better bollock Arsenal.

The issue with the Utd game was all the things before the penalty including the ref not blowing the whistle an age before they even got the corner.  That Pen reversal, Var assistant telling the ref that Connolly played for the pen.  Surely the ref should be able to view the incident again without some tit in his ear influencing him.

James at Everton has two jobs. Instagram Influencer and then moonlights as a footballer.

At least he's decent at both of them. We've got Karius filling both roles.

Sorry fellas, can't still get over this Scum robbery of Brighton today. Don't Brighton have a case for appeal to higher authorities on the basis that the penalty was given well after the game was officially ended? I just keep wondering.

Apart from being miffed at the mancs scoring a last second winner, I don’t have a problem with it. The foul took place before the final whistle and given it an absolute exceptional circumstances, I think the decisions should have been given.

Put it this way, if it were us and we hadn’t been given the penalty, I’d have been livid.

Also, knock off “scum” comments, we aren’t Leeds fans.

Who cares. They’ll get what they deserve over the season. And the longer they keep their current manager the better.

This is something the football authorities should have foreseen. In fact they did to some extent and I think it was applied in one of our games? Play continued without a natural break for about 6 minutes when VAR told the ref (atkinson?) to stop the game and award a penalty.

If VAR were looking into a pen for united deep into added time, why didnt they communicate this to the ref and tell him to either stop the game while the decision was made or, told him not to blow the final whistle?

There's something incongruous with awarding a penalty after the ref has supposedly blown the final whistle and Im not saying that because it was the Mancs. I didnt watch that game. Would FIFA allow that to happen after extra time in a World Cup final with the scores level before the penalty shoot out? Think we know the answer to that one!

There was an incident last season in Germany (it might have been a German Cup game) where one team committed a foul just before the ref blew up for half time. The VAR team were reviewing it (it wasn't one of those obvious fouls that all the players crowd the ref over) as the players went back to the changing rooms. After the ref had watched it, he had to call all the players back out and give the penalty as the incident had happened before he'd blown the half time whistle. The players came back out, the penalty was taken and scored, then they all went back inside for half time. The side who'd conceded the penalty weren't happy!
