Uh ho. Joachim Lowe quits as German national team boss!

Fucking headline. Apparently he's quitting AFTER this summer's Euro Championship.

Joachim Low will step down as the German national football team manager after 15 years in charge.

The 61-year-old, who led his nation to World Cup glory in 2014 and finished runner-up in Euro 2008, will end his sell in charge following the conclusion of Euro 2020 this summer.

The former midfielder was appointed Germany manager in 2006 and will now attempt to win one more major tournament before stepping away from management.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been strongly linked with taking over from Low, prompting thousands of Reds fans and other football supporters to react across social media to this latest news, while Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick is also reportedly a contender.

Klopp admitted in 2019 that he would "think about taking the job, if the question ever arises" and in November last year he said he'd "maybe take the job in the future".

At 10am on Tuesday morning, the official Germany team Twitter account posted: "Joachim Low will step down as national team head coach after Euro 2020."

@Moustache_and wrote: "Good news for Liverpool that, as there is no way Klopp would leave this summer, not on the back of this season. I was worried that he might next year when Lows contract was up though, especially if we had success next season and Klopp wanted to go out on a high."

While @Shakir replied: "Klopp would be mad to reject this job. It's available for the first time in 15 years. If it takes another 15 years then Klopp will never get the chance. Capello never got to manage Italy. Wenger never got to manage France. It really depends on how badly he wants this job."

Others, like @JimmyKay88 said it was "the first time I’ve ever been worried about Klopp. When Low leaves that draw of the Germany job will be huge for him."

Meanwhile, @muzz1989 said the news "opened the door for Klopp" while @garygueppard said it was the "perfect timing for Klopp" to come into the Germany job and @jeedslaur said they "couldn't imagine anyone else" as the Germany manager.

Also, @two_grand_dan added that "Klopp would absolutely jump at the chance for the Germany job. Achieved everything possible at Liverpool. Liverpool fans are pretty blinded if they think over wise."

On the opposite side of the coin though, there were others who hoped Klopp would stay with @AllezAllezAIlez pointing out Klopp was under contract until 2024 at Anfield.

And @honiara64 hoping it was "too soon" for Klopp to leave Liverpool.

I wouldn't be too worried as I don't think Jurgen would be suited to international management anyway, given the limited involvement with players and the gaps between international periods. Whenever he goes, I reckon he'd like to win a title in Spain or Italy.

Just seen that decision myself, can't believe they've done that wtf is the point of it? It puts the team who's getting the pen at a disadvantage by taking the goal off the board.

As far Haaland goes forget MBappe he's the one we should be after.

Keeper saves the ensuing pen too.

Pepe clears the ball in the area hitting his fellow defenders arm about 6 yards away

You know damn well if that was in the premier league there’d be a 3 minute delay and a penalty given for that

The refereeing of games is beyond the pale here now isn’t it?
