I reckon he’s underachieved with that group of players this season. They’ve quality all over the pitch and a decent bench too. They should have put it up to City a bit more, especially after battering them a few months ago.

In fairness to him/them though, they’ve bought very well over the last few years.

Couldn't possibly agree. City, us, United, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal all should have finished above them. Probably Everton as well.

I reckon we still have a small chance... My predictions nearly always fail, I've still given it a try...

With 5 games to go:

Leicester 62 pts - South (a), N'castle (h), Utd (a), Chelsea (a), Spurs (h). 2 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw = 69 pts

Chelsea 58 pts - Fulham (h), City (a), Arsenal (h), Leicester (h) Villa (a). 2 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss = 66 pts

West H 55 pts - Burnley (a), Everton (h), Brighton (a), WBA (a), South (h). 3 wins, 2 draws = 66 pts

Liverpool 54 pts - Utd (a), South (h), WBA (a), Burnley (a), Palace (h). 4 wins, 1 draw  = 67 pts

By the time Chelsea and Leicester face off, we might be better off hoping for a Chelsea collapse... With commitments in both CL and FA Cup they might be vulnerable to it too. The United game at the weekend is probably last chance saloon for us, 0 pts there will make it close to impossible. A win would put us firmly back in it, but even a point could prove vital, the margins are pretty slim as you can see.

Edit: I know 4 wins in a row seems impossible with our current form and squandering of chances, but this being our only focus in the coming weeks SHOULD be a help for us.

I’m usually stupidly optimistic, but this season has broken me. Not a hope we get fourth, regardless of how many points Chelsea drop.

Really? They’ve the best balanced XI for me after City (and probably a non-Lampard managed Chelsea) given our injury ravaged, out-of-form shambles.

Christ, Real look so ordinary.

We haven't the balls or spine to grab a top 4 spot even if those above us fall over and open door for us.

We are a totally spineless outfit these days sadly.

First team to win the league in 30 years! Had a cunt of a season with little or no luck, with not enough to overcome the loss of form. They are far from 'spineless'.

It's a decent balanced squad but basically everyone bar City from "the big 6" has hugely underachieved. We're about 30 points off where we should be. About 15 even taking into account the injuries.

Arsenal start the season with Pepe,  Ozil, Lacazette, Aubameyang, and Martinelli and they've scored 46 goals in 33 games.

Etc.

Leicester and West Ham have picked up the pieces, but when next season starts their expectations should be 7th - 10th.

They are the very definition of spineless and you'll note i said 'these days'

They were spinless in the derby return after what happened in first one, meekly and timidly lay down and allowed Everton to bully us after everything that happened at the pit, not one of them was up for it or showed some spite and fight against those rats after what they did to us....and they've been spineless time and time again this season - embarrassing result after embarrassing result, setback after setback and rarely if ever a reaction, or a performance that shows their pride is hurt or they are hungry to set record straight.

I reckon too many of them have sat looking at their medals from previous season and basking in the glow and lost the edge, drive and backbone that made them winners.
