Yeah borderline, but I’d personally rather they err on the side of caution. I wouldn’t be comfortable if they start referring to players/coaches by their ethnicity  e.g., “Send that Arab off” or “Card the Jew”.

I broadly agree but calling someone a black guy doesn't necessary describe his ethnicity. Black people are from all nationalities and religions. Anyway rather people erred on the side of caution too

If the ref asked to identify the offender in the coaching staff, he wouldn’t say “the white guy there”, so by the same token, their is no need to identify someone as “the black guy".

If the coaching staff was 5 black guys and 1 white guy, it would be absurd not to refer to the white guy as the white guy.

Racism is to discriminate against a person because of the colour of their skin. Attempts to redefine it as mere reference to someone's skin colour should be resisted by all sane folk.

This fallout should be quite interesting. Would the same conversation be having had if there was just one white chap on the bench and was identified using that. There’s got to be some level of acceptance that people can get it wrong while not meaning any offence. Surely these issues need to be taken in context.

I switched over to the PSG game to see what was going on. They said the match was restarting at 21:00, showed the PSG players warming up in the tunnel and now it’s cut off again with nothing happening.

10pm our time apparently

It's probably time for UEFA to give coaching staff numbers or identifiers.

Eg. "Send off that cunt Ole.. erm MUFCTW4T"

I don't know any Jews who would be offended at being referred to as Jewish. Indeed, if the Jews I know are any indication, they'd refer to themselves as "the Jewish one" if they were with a group of non-Jewish friends.
