Fulham aren't getting out of the bottom 3 all season I said it last week and nothing I've seen so far has changed my mind

The 3rd team promoted from the Championship is nearly always the weakest. Although a 3rd team is promoted, they can frequently be the side that finished 4th, 5th or 6th in the Championship who hit a purple patch.

Ive thought for a long time, there's a case for promoting the top two automatically from the Championship but the team that wins the 3rd place play offs should play off against the 3rd bottom of the PL.

You could even argue the Championship drops the plays offs to the PL altogether and whoever ended 3rd plays the team that finished 3rd from bottom of the PL.

In the early days when the Football League went to 2 divisions, for a short period there was no automatic promotion. The bottom of the first division played the second division Champions in what was called a 'Test match.' The winners either stayed in the higher league or got promoted.

Leeds are a "glass cannon". Dave U was right in his match report - they'll score loads this season and concede even more.

Definitely right, I still think they're good enough to stay up but they won't be top half. Bielsa won't change at all even if they're 18th on the final day and need a point.

A bugbear of mine. In 1997, Keegan's Newcastle conceded 4 less goals than eventual Champions Man Utd.

Fair enough, that one stat on its own and in isolation has convinced me that I was wrong to even mention that. I am duly chastised and I apologise.
