He hasn't even played for us yet! Are you saying to sell him on the same day as signing him?

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Didn't sleep last night because of this.

Never heard of him but if Klopp and his staff want him I’m sure he’ll be excellent. Also really needed cover for Robbo,

"Proper number 9"

Amazing.

Tell Salah to get some chalk on his boots, go to the byline and cross it to the big man. Big beefy header from the proper number 9, Bob's your uncle, meat and gravy for dinner, thank you very much.

We need to get Mo in a "big man, little man" front two.

Trent spraying diagonals onto the proper number 9's noggin and Salah running onto the flick on's >>>>>

Win one league title and some fans think we’re too good for Aguero or Lewandowski. Can’t be arsed. Football is definitely going a bit too ‘hip’ for my liking.

Yip good engine and left footed . Kinda hoping the HG thing (and how we have not addressed with Lewis) pushes us towards White for the CB vacancy. If that’s the case he could be our big outlay for this window meaning the #9 will not be addressed. Thiago is a no brainier but I don’t believe the rumours that we are his only suitors.

We've got that young CB who kept quiet that world class centre forward who 'ran past VVD' once in his dreams.

Aguero's not good enough in the air to be a proper number 9, mate.

Yeah I’d take Lewandowski before him for that reason.

Mate you’re just obsessed with numbers and starting positions on the telly lineup without thinking about roles in the team.

Salah and Mané are the strikers, Firmino is the number 10, and Trent and Robbo are the old fashioned wingers, whipping crosses in and getting assists.

No, I’m okay with Bobby to keep his place for now. It wasn’t his best season but I expect him to improve next year.

The attacker we need doesn’t need to be a number nine or a false nine or a 10, or a replica of Salah, Mane or Bobby.

he needs to be a player that fits our style of play. One who is intelligent, can play with others, either running off them, or feeding them, can press and understand his role in the team.

ideally, he’d also be a terrific finisher, and lighting fast, but a decent combination of those attributes will leave us with a good player who adds to what we have. That’s what we need.

getting hung up on anything else is a fools errand. There’s only one Bobby, nobody else is quite like him, and so that means we can’t get a direct copy, so let’s find the best footballer we can that will compliment what we have and got our style of play.

I hate the over hyping of players especially mediocre ones because we are so desperate to see us sign somebody we blow smoke up their arse and elevate them way too much! that aside this lad Tsimikas is something special id be fucking shocked if he doesn't end his career with the most Ballon D'or wins ever.

Agree with your post mate. On Bobby, I think Griezmann could play like him, but he would not come anyway.

He’s one of those players I have an irrational dislike for and will never be convinced he’s not crap. A bit like Zlatan, or before him Inzaghi. Good, but crap.

So, he's been reading the gossip columns?

    • I remember being at the gym checking our progress on the Palace match thread on here, and coming away thinking that we've asserted our authority at the top of the pile again and, with the run of games we had coming up over Christmas and new year, we should put some distance between us and the pretenders. Fair to say things haven't quite worked out like that.   Yes, we're short in defence, which has meant pulling midfielders back, in turn weakening our midfield, but what I find the most puzzling is the complete lack of form from all the front three. The service might not be all it could be, but we can't score a fucking goal for love nor money, and this from the much-lauded most feared forward line in Europe over the past two or three seasons. We're basically at the point the point where we're (well, me at any rate) waiting and hoping for the guy signed as the fourth choice/rotation option to save our season - which at this point means making top four.   Bleak times indeed.
    • i am fucking petrified if klopp goes. but who knows what they'll do if we don't get top 4 and who knows what klopp will do if he just gets fed up of fighting with his hands tied behind his back. If Klopp goes this summer, Arsenal awaits us.
    • Agreed. I’ve typically been okay with FSG, I don’t might frugality when there’s a plan for things going wrong. Not buying a top class CB this window - even if it’s a summer target at a large premium - is just an egregiously horrendous decision, and since now top four looks improbable, we all know what happens next.
Heavy spending will be needed in the summer if we are to compete near the top next time around, but the more likely situation is high profile outgoings to cover the loss of expected income and a couple of contract renewals feted as though they’re new signings. If we let another player go they might let Klopp spend 50% of the fee.
    • Klopp is also historically a "backs against the wall", "siege mentality", "minnows vs Bayern Munich" type manager.  A heavy metal underdog.  Revels in it.  Thrives on it.  Said it himself at Dortmund. Perhaps the best-ever at it.   This is a perfect storm for FSG not spending money.   If this is as far as we go success-wise with Klopp, he's already done more than we could possibly have dreamt of.   Master stroke, FSG.
    • To be fair, most of his teammates didnt want the ball either. Im sick of seeing Gini, Trent, Curtis and a few others immediately give the ball back to the player who has just given it them. What happened to pass and move?
