Ooh, this is a pretty good tie. Like 31 v 33 in the draw.

The Monday’s are my preference. Depeche Mode were pretty popular and influential though.

Eh?

I've had to go for Depeche Mode. A few years ago it would have been the Happy Mondays but the simple fact is, Depeche Mode have the slight better catalogue. The Happy Mondays are boss though.

2 more ties to go today.

If it was 64 seeds mate. Neither of these is the absolute top tier, but they’re close in quality.

Aah got you.

Out of interest where are you seeding Oasis?

Ha, dunno. Have to see who they’re up against!

I would probably vote Mondays over Oasis, but Oasis over DM though...

Weird band, Depeche Mode. Start off as a great electro pop band with some boss tunes, eventually become a dark, smack tinged band, while selling more records than they ever did when doing the pure pop stuff and becoming one of the biggest stadium bands around.

The last time I had tickets for Happy Mondays in Den Haag the fuckers cancelled because they were reforming the band. Fuck knows who was in that line up.

Depeche Mode all the way.

Brilliant back catalogue, and an unbelievably good live act.  Seeing Depeche Mode these days is like going back in time to when people went to concerts to enjoy themselves and enjoy the music and performance, none of this chattering to each other or endless taking of photos and videos.  Seeing them live is quite an experience.

Love Depeche Mode. 101 is a brilliant live album. I like the Mondays enough but not as much as the Roses or the Inspirals from that time.

Had to vote for DM, although the irony of them going through while Pet Shop Boys and The Human League crash out should not be lost.

Why? Depeche Mode by far the bigger band.
