Travis are alright. Inoffensive and a lot better than people give them credit for on here. 

 

Dire Straits..... One of the best bands ever IMO.

I like Travis. The Invisible Band is a really good album. 

 

Not much interest in Dire Straits. I do like Romeo and Juliet though.

Once slept in the back of a transit van in the car park of Spanish City (Whitley Bay fairground and mentioned in the song Tunnel of Love) with a few other lads. There was snow on the ground and the fairground was closed. In the morning two of us set off in search of supplies. Unforgivably milk was stolen which my friend later threw up in the glove compartment. Whilst out we came across two young girls who came back to our van to see for themselves how Yorkshire folk like to spend their mini breaks. We then gave them a lift to the town limits before heading South. Luckily for them we weren’t murderers or sexual deviants. Fuck knows what they were thinking getting in the back of a transit van with us but in honour of them retaining their honour I voted for Dire Straits.

 

I also voted for Dire Straits because they are brilliant and Travis are shit.

Was going to vote Dire Straits on account of Travis being fucking drab shite that are in this competition at the expense of the Jesus And Mary Chain, then I remembered that I hate Dire Straits. It should probably still be them but I can't bring myself to do it.

I've been unfairly turned off them for a good few decades, mainly because I associate them with cringey 1980s Princes Trust gigs - all Lady Di shuffling arrhythmically to Level 42 and shit like that.  I need to remember that they actually did a fair bit of good stuff.
