I have not, I only watched and listened to (almost all of) his recordings.

I am not saying he is not good or well liked, but he has to be the only comedian whose rhythm gets regularly disrupted by his own laughter. He does like his own jokes a lot.

I've seen him live and I can assure you that the vast vast majority in the audience are laughing a hell of a lot harder. I have seen most of his recorded stuff and I am often in tears but seeing him live I nearly shit a lung out. One truly funny man.
