Are you a dunker?

  1. 1. Do you dunk biscuits in tea or coffee?

    • Yes, always.
    • No, never, I just eat them as they are.
    • Occasionally, depends on the biscuit.
    • I’m a weirdo, I don’t like biscuits.

Biscuits should never be dunked in coffee, that’s just nuts, I can tolerate a biscotti dipped in the froth of a latte, but that's about it.

Biscuits in tea then you're talking digestives as it is the world's most boring biscuit. Chocolate digestive? You're basically bumming Clare Foy while she's in character as The Queen while you yourself are dressed as Oliver Cromwell.

Cheese on a digestive is wrong but right, I'd never encountered it before until my uncle introduced me to it as a blast from the past in his Royal Navy days.

More boring than a Rich Tea or one of those Shorties things? I’m not having that

You just don’t drink coffee and then it’s not a problem.

Shortcake? I like these but they’re not a patch on good quality or homemade shortbread.

They’re all right in a cup of milk and a biscuit retro sort of way.

It was these I was thinking aboutshortcake-biscuits-tin-of-shortbread-bis

You put something with jellied fruit into your drink - and then drink it?

I dunk them, yes. I tend to eat at least a packet of biscuits per time, so there isn’t much tea left. I just throw the remainder down the sink. I’ll make a fresh cup if I want one.

I’m surprised at the number of occasional dunkers. I’m yet to find a biscuit that isn’t improved by being immersed in tea.

You can’t let punk wafers near a cuppa. Not sure if that counts as a biscuit or not. Not sure if they even make them anymore.

Here's a question for all you tea drinkers.  One of my students last year dunks toast in his tea.  Is this a normal thing as I was aghast at that revelation.

I used to do that when I put sugar in my tea. Twas fucking lovely but I stopped using sugar about ten years ago in my tea and it was never as nice. Obviously it was more the sugar that made it nice and not the tea as such.
