Premier League Round Up (Jul 11-13 2020)

An interesting round of fixtures this one as there were developments at the bottom and also in the fight for the top four places. I say fight but it's more like three drunks swinging at eachother and falling over.

United look the least shitfaced currently, unfortunately as Chelsea appear to have joined Leicester in doing their bit to help them get into the Champions League places. If Leicester and United had won their games this week then Chelsea would have been 5th, which is unthinkable really when they looked nailed on for third not so long ago.

They lost 3-0 at Bramall Lane and even allowed David McGoldrick to score. TWICE. McBurnie got the other one and it could have been more as Mousset missed a sitter late on.

What a season the Blades have had. It took them a little while to get going after the restart but they’ve hit their stride again now. They’re seventh and only five points from the top four.

Those two points they were robbed of at Villa Park the other week look huge now, as they’d have been right up there without that scandalous “hawkeye not working” bollocks.

Chelsea are just wildly inconsistent. There’s a lot to like about some of their play and they’ve got some terrific individual players, but they’re basically Arsenal in the latter years of Wenger. Good to watch but soft as shite.

I’m annoyed at their incompetence because it now means that if we beat them at Anfield it might just secure a top four spot for United and it sticks in the throat to be doing them any favours. Knocking Chelsea out of the top four would be some consolation though I guess.
