I mean it was actually Stop Funding Hate who flagged it initially (the Co-op advertising in the notoriously transphobic Speccy). I'm really not sure what the issue is with a trans person pointing that out to the Co-op. It's really the only kind of influence regular Joe's can exert - "if you keep advertising in hateful rags, I'll get my fruit and veg elsewhere" - and there's absolutely fuck all wrong with it.

Pretty much the exact same thing happened with the Mail a few years ago, and the company involved ended up pulling their ads, but they could have chosen not to, as the Co-op did here.

The right do love a bit of faux outrage.

The “You couldn’t make it up” boys need a new threat to our way of life bogeyman to tediously represent in nuance-less terms, once the EU can’t be accused of setting imaginary rules anymore.

You can do whatever you want so long as it doesn't harm anyone. That's the essence of liberalism.

Racism doesn’t harm people ? From someone who crows about anti-semitism that’s some bold (and as usual hypocritical) shit. Wow

You asked me if we can criticise them. I said you can do what you want if it doesn't harm anyone. Not really sure how you get to where you've gotten there.

If it's news at all, then it's good news that a broadcaster is offering training to its presenters.
