All over Twitter... Chomsky’s weighed in too. We’ve recently had a right wing MP (Pauline Hanson) banned from appearing on the national tele for saying racist things. RLB got sacked for RTing an article containing a questionable sentence in the UK. How big a problem is this do you think?

Its easy not to be cancelled. Don't be a cunt. Especially on Twitter. JK Rowling might hate chicks with dicks but don't tweet it to your 14 million odd followers.

No she does not. She just stands up for the hard won rights of women against those with hairy balls who believe that they should have all the rights of a woman because inside they feel like a lesbian

She had no problem writing about Hermione playing with her wand though.

Is there a decoding device required to understand this post?

Genunely wondering if this is a thing outside of the UK and US? Do the Japanese, Greeks and Scandinavians get bogged down in all this stuff?

The Koreans just spend all day posting videos of shit dancers under trending hashtags:

It’s right to say that she should have been a bit smarter than to tweet to her 14m followers, but also I thought most of what she was saying wasn’t all that - I want to use the word controversial, but it clearly was controversial - bad. She’s just got different view. The reaction was one where you’d thought she was advocating mass slaughter of trans people. This whole cancelling thing only really exists in the fantasy land of the Internet. Unfortunately it spills over into real lives.

When you did robe trans people that way, with denigration and disdain, it makes you sound like a transphobic asshole.

It’s strategic idiocy, shortcut to thinking, myopic, self-indulgent, fucking lazy, smug, ironically nth degree bigotry, lacking in a rounded view of humanity, arriviste bullshit. It’s unwittingly part of the very lifeblood of populism and this seemingly endless culture war.

Other than that, and the ability to ironically quip “There are fine people on both sides” and therefore win the internets immediately at anyone suggesting caution, it’s been an absolute runaway success story for further polluting political discourse and where that leads.
