We definitely needed someone like him yesterday though. Watching the likes of Milner and Henderson trying to break down a team defending on their edge of their box wasn't fun.

 

It's the biggest difference between us and City on the pitch. They can pin teams in for longer periods because they have midfielders that are better technically than most of ours.

 

We needed a Fabinho, Thiago, Jones/Elliott midfield yesterday.

A stats site suggests he’s started 8 of our 19 league games and come on as a sub for 3 (of which one was the defeat to West Ham). 
 

It all makes him a bit of an irrelevance, unfortunately. 
 

I hope he will as he’s a very good footballer, but will anybody be that surprised if he’s not available for Chelsea?

Oxlade hasn't been generally available for selection since he arrived.  Henderson wouldn't get within a million miles of   any other top team, and Milner, much as I love him, is past it now.  There's the problem.

I think he's in a completely different league to those two, who are next to useless. He was crocked last season due to Everton being cunts but he definitely has class and deserves a break. 

 

Keita and Chamberlain though absolutely, just utterly useless, and Taki too.

Overall, I don’t think anyone is doubting his quality. Would be nice to see it with a bit of regularity though and odd not to acknowledge that it’s a real issue.
