Oh dear the dreaded “it’s not too serious” …So that’s him back for November then

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara will miss a minimum of two matches with a calf problem.

Someone let his wife know he won't make it to Christmas

Problem with modern day football....wording like this!

'flipping the triangle' sounds so sexy it's more of a description than a euphemism

on the downside 'double pivot system' sounds like the blurb in an advert for an artificial leg.

That's Ardja for you though

He started off really well last season but his last few games he didn’t do so well. He was very conservative on the ball without being an asset defensively. I believe the issue is that he is not a natural CM. His best position is probably as a number 10. I wouldn’t wind seeing us ‘flipping the triangle’ for one game and give him a run as an attacking midfielder. Thiago, Fabinho and Keita all excelled playing in a double pivot system in previous clubs.

Is ‘ flipping the triangle ‘ like ‘ flicking the bean ‘

To be fair the lad was banjacked by a couple of Palace players in that incident that saw him injured. Wouldnt surprise me if the club were saying out until after the October international break to head off any potential call up by Spain.

Be good thinking if they've done that....Something we should do a lot more of

I am shocked at this in no way wholly predictable turn of events.

Unbelievable isn’t it. The world and his wife know our midfield has woodworm, the one midfielder who is never injured walks away for free and is not replaced. There comes a point where you actually deserve what you get.

Having 8 midfielders is all well and good on paper...but when 2 of them are fucking useless (and always injured on top) another is about 40 and two more are as yet pretty much unproven kids (who may well turn out to be great in time of course) the "8" is not so strong in reality.
