Genuine question, what would we achieve by that? How is putting a player that’s not ready to play, and we have no intention on playing, in the squad a step to getting him back?

 

If it was a 17 year old I may somehow see a logic in that, but this is an exoerienced player who’s seen it all and won it all. What he would gain from sitting on the bench for 90 minutes I really struggle to see.

I think it's one thing setting your team up like fat sham did today for an away game but Newcastle are at home albeit sans fans. Sure, I think they'll look to stifle us but not like sham did today, surely?

Our new shiny 50m centre half and long term partner for VVD will be in place by then.

 

Although i am not sure if that is more down to Thiago not getting fit anytime soon than it is us doing what we need to do in the transfer window.

To be fair,there arent many options from the bench so its hardly surprising.
