What I like about that video is its literally like its trying to sell the guy to you and is doing so with the swaggering self-assured tone of a 60s frigidaire commercial or a Donald Trump rally.

He does look good based on that video but the reality of how a player will fit into a team is always more complex.

Is this were we have the big build up, the videos, compilations talk of how he fits, welcome to Liverpool. Signs for Chelsea.

Usually Pearse will come out and dismiss the rumours after the compilations go viral... then he signs for Chelsea

That's what I was thinking too.  He looks like an amazing player and seeing him in and around our front three would be incredible.

I wonder if this is Klopp testing the owners as this signing doesn't fit within our usual profile.

Klopp's stock couldn't be any higher, time to be backed to build the dynasty - kids and potential don't always cut it!

The depth we have in midfield means it’s a gamble worth taking IMO.

Perhaps not the usual profile under Klopp, but he's kept on Lallana, Lovren and Milner even though they were around said profile when he started. So it's not as if he's opposed to this type of player.

I meant the owners not sanctioning - I think Klopp would love him.

I guess it comes down to where these points meet. If Klopp wants them for multiple years into his time as manager, then logically it means the owners ultimately accept the value of these players.

At what point does Klopp highlight that the club is where it is because (or at least partly) of these types that he deems very useful/essential? And again, following the same logic, adding  similar player will add further value to the already-successful squad.

If Jurgen really wants him then I reckon we'll buy him. The cost and wages would easily be covered by Lallana, Clyne and the likely departures of Grujic and Shaquiri.

It is insane that we have to rationalize a 35m transfer with the departure of four players.
