Only reason to sign this guy is if Gini leaves otherwise what's the point. He's 29 doesn't really solve the few flaws we have. If we do have money to spend why use such a wedge of it on this guy.

Perhaps he's shaqs replacement? He was linked with Geordie Arabia a little while back. If we can get maybe 20m for him, plus lallana's wages off the payroll, the deal probably doesn't cost too much.

A lot of misunderstanding of the kind of player he is. Highest pass success rate in the Bundesliga. If anything he solves the one flaw we have, which is an inability to slow games down and control the pace at the elite level. We have our own way of playing of course, but a player like him adds a different dimension. Would still be very surprised if it went through given his age/profile but he's a completely different type of player to anyone in the squad at the moment. Nothing like Wijnaldum
