Need more from Mane and Robertson, both dire today and against City.  Oxocube and Origi, getting what you'd expect from, unless they're scoring, they offer nowt.

 

Downright criminal if we go into next season with Origi backing up our front three again.  Sticks out like a sore thumb and always has, even more so when he's stuck outwide.   You'd say just hook him instead of sticking out there but then again, anyone that's been tried there has looked lost.

It's starting to feel like there's no point with Chamberlain and Keita. Despite the fact they're supposed to be the more "creative" midfield, it rarely feels like they actually fulfill that. And we're worse when they play because we're more open and have less control.

 

This game is basically the perfect illustration of why the biggest need of this team is a quality creative midfielder, like say Thiago. There was nothing that half in terms of chance creation and that's actually not that rare of an occurrence.

Pretty dire. But......it's blowing an absolute gale up here, you can see the ball clearly holding up, fading, sticking etc. I don't think the two muppets on the commentary team have mentioned it once. Must be sitting indoors in front of a screen.

To be fair, Origi, Mane, Firmino and Salah just get no service if it's not from the full backs. What was Origi supposed to do that half? The forwards were on a hiding to nothing and if it continues like this it will take a moment of individual magic from one of them, which you just can't consistently expect.

Y’see, I don’t agree there’s nothing to play for, we have un unbeaten home record to keep, a record points total to get to piss City off, there’s professional pride and I dare say win bonuses and these took great pleasure in grinding our kids faces in it earlier in the season.

Plus we owe it to other teams fighting relegation to put a shift in.

And there’s still the shirt to play for.

This is exactly the opposite kind of game for either Keita or Ox would be effective - they want to run into space off a counter or in open play. Neither are good enough on the ball to offer anything against a team sitting deep.
