Found some old footy jerseys

I own every shirt from 92 onwards excluding keeper jerseys. Ironically my first shirt (kit, came in a all-in-one box) was the 88 Candy shirt. Also have the Adidas Originals for our 90 home and away shirts plus the 86 Crown Paints one. I have a lot of football shirts in my collection.

Worth a fair bit that

My mates collection is unreal - i think there is only something like two shirts missing since 1980 or something mad like that.

The '80s is where the money is. Most replicas that survive are kids sizes so an adult one is worth fuckloads.

I have my Dad's 91-92 away shirt and, having just looked it up, they go for £80+ on eBay! Blimey.

I was talking to some Real Madrid fans in a pub (years ago - after we'd just beaten them 4-0).  They were commenting on one or two people wearing Reina shirts, saying that nobody in Spain buys the keeper's shirt; they just thought it was weird, for some reason.

The price of early/mid nineties replica shirts has shot right up though, and will probably continue to do so. Some of the prices that the likes of classicfootballshirts.co.uk charge are crazy.

I have the 85-87 Crown Paints shirt, plus every home shirt from 89-90 onwards, all genuine. I also have all the Adidas away and 3rd shirts from their second spell as kit sponsors, plus a Reebok away shirt from 03-04 (which is the only time I've got a name and number on the back - JJB were selling the shirts at a discount and doing the names and numbers for free). That makes 25 shirts in total, but I've had more than that. I gave 3 or 4 Reebok away shirts to my cousin in Fiji when my uncle came to the UK to visit. They love Rugby 7s but are also Reds.

There are sites like Classic Football Shirts where you can find a lot of older stuff but the prices are eye-watering. I have a look from time to time but it isn't worth paying that much for them. It does suggest that my collection is worth a fair bit though.

Used to be load of bargains on eBay but the prices are mostly daft now. Loads of crap, modern reproductions, too.

I used to have a decent collection of shirts, including Liverpool Umbro pinstripe, Liverpool 1987-88 home and away, Liverpool 1989-91 home and away, Celtic away 1989-91, West Germany 1990 home, Netherlands 1990 home. Sold them a few years ago, when I needed the money.

Still have the following, Alaves 2001 UEFA Cup Final, England 1990 third (XL brand new in bag), Deportivo de La Coruna 1992-93, Juventus 1995-96.

I’ve said this before.

Between my brother and I we had every single home and away kit from 87/88 to about 02 I think it was.

They were all boxed up and we’d just keep buying the shirts and adding them to the collection.

When my brother bought the house off me mam we went to get the box out the attic and add a few kits to it. Only we couldn’t find it.

Rang me mam asking where she’d put it and she told me she’d seen an advert for an African charity wanting old football shirts for kids so had donated them all as she knew Ginge and I would approve!

Silly fucking mare.

My first kit was the silver crown paints.

Came in a blue Adidas box with the three white stripes diagonally across the corner of the box.  Shirt, shorts and socks.

How did you persuade Dave to model your Juve shirt?

I own/collect a lot of football shirts, I think the count is somewhere close to 300 now. Bought some classics in the last few years that I didn't manage to get when I was younger like the Romania Euro 96 jersey, the Germany away '92 shirt, Italy away '98, Munich away '93 and Wales '93 shirt. Some of the oldest ones that I have that aren't Liverpool are Inter home '96, Madrid home '96, France home '96 and Wales away '95.

Only own two keeper shirts. The adidas 95 shirt with James on it and Casillas shirt from 02.

Any matchworn shirts, or are they all replicas?

I used to have a John Barnes one (1990s gold third shirt) but sold it when I was out of work.

I once asked Matt Le Tissier for his, he agreed pre-match, I collared him afterwards and he bullshitted me that he had forgotten and it had been packed away. Twat!

I had loads of great old shirts. My Dad being Scottish & living in England, he always made sure I had some good anti-England shirts.

Some beaut Barca shirts as well.

Getting these images, seems I’d make on a fortune on eBay these days...

Those Barcelona shirts aren’t that bad! I’ve always liked that early nineties Germany shirt. Italia ‘90 Scotland home is very nice, too.
