If he doesn't come here I suspect it's because we're not that arsed. He's an out and out striker isn't he and we don't play with one? Also, who would we drop? Would he be happy with rotation?

Pretty smalltime that chelsea and other fans are making out he's been stolen from under our nose due to them being so fucking shit hot. Will he even fit what they need? Smacks a bit of the way the mancs for the last few years have bunged loads on one or two big names even though what they really needed was a spine of a team.

Lampard probably read about him in the daily mirror, heard he had some buzz and so wanted him. He'll score on his debut and Lampard will hug him as he walks off the pitch and make out he's somehow unearthed a hidden gem, then he'll be out of a job come christmas. Tim Sherwood with more chins.

Bit disappointing as all the talk for a year or two now has been how suitable he’d be for us - will become very disappointing if we don’t bring a forward in given the need with AFCON. The club’s recent success is clearly indisputable but whether it has been because of or in spite of what has still been a relatively paltry net spend relative to some other teams is debatable. You’d hope the fact that we’ve spent relatively modestly would mean there are funds available to take advantage of situations where clubs like Spurs are taking on 200£ mil loans .. let’s hope we don’t see further retrenchment into caution instead.

How the fuck are missing out on a target like this who wants to come.

Makes no sense.

We are in a position of strength to attract the very best that we haven't been in for decades.

I suppose Covid has given the owners the perfect excuse for not spending, I hope we don't but fear we probably will stand still while all our rivals strengthen.

He seems to do better as a wide player in a front three. Seems to struggle as an out an out striker from what I've seen/read.

Shame that as I’d have loved to have seen him at us. Seemed to have been the perfect signing as well. At his age prob couldn’t be arsed sitting on the bench for us getting 20 minutes in the league and a start in the carling cup when he could be getting an extra £60k per week and being the star striker at Chelsea. Bastards

Someone said Chelsea can afford him because they had a transfer ban. Still managed to sign Pulisic, Ziyech and Kovacic for £130m and now Werner for £53m.

Liverpool had a self imposed transfer ban for 22 months and signed Minamino, Elliot and Van Den Berg for £17m

Is Chelseas new "transfer champions" trophy on display in Stmaford bridge by any chance?

Some fuckin transfer ban that is. You can't buy that Ferrari but can have two Rolls Royces instead!
