A message from @FootballTrader, who is representing our new partner, Footstock....

There's a new site on the Horizon called Footstock, if you enjoy your fantasy football then you'll love this.

The idea of the game is really simple, Buy Card packs or purchase from stock market and build an elite collection of cards.

The market is brilliant for those who can spot young talent early on, for example Curtis Jones has steadily increased from £0.79 to £6.98 per card. Who's the next star?

Your cards can be used in fantasy football tournaments, games such as stat roulette, or even sold for a profit.

I'm currently playing, but I'm only buying and selling players. I also enter the free roll tournaments that are on offer.

If you're Intrigued and want to know more, I'd definitely advise signing up.

Doing so will grant you 50 bonus players as well as some tournament coupons.

Sign up here to get your bonus

@FootballTrader will answer any questions you have and provide whatever advice you need to get started. Just post in this thread and he'll reply as soon as possible.

Interesting concept. I'm interested to know more about what determines how a player's value rises.

Is it linked to statistics, goals and assists or media mentions? Or bits and pieces of those and more? I do play FI and I've made money (less than a quid!) on Kai Havertz who has been goal and media regular.

Thank you.

I signed up earlier and my free cards had players at these prices and Virgil Van Dijk at £7.67. It’s a fucking disgwace.

I’m still none the wiser to be honest. I’m in a couple of free tournaments tomorrow so maybe it will become clearer then.

Indeed, it's a fun concept.

A players price will rise due to demand, as other traders control the price of them. However, the causes for the demand would be; The Star Rating of the Player; His form; Transfer Speculation & Age to an extent.

I say age, as the cards that you own will never expire. For example with Trent A-A, He's 21 and expensive, but you would get 10 years worth of tournaments potentially.

The performance data is linked to their real-life data. There's no Media Mentions with Footstock, although Football Index is the platform for that haha! Each player gets his own score rating etc.

Kai Havertz is really going through some spell of form (& Price increase) on the Index.

I know I'm affiliated, but I would encourage you to sign up and pack your 50 bonus cards, which can then be entered in the free-roll tournaments and they'll give you a taste of footstock.

(Note, there's no Football Matches being played currently, but there are Virtual Tournaments on regularly while we wait for the return).

@Captain Turdseye Yeah the player pricing is definitely something to get to grips with.

You see the In-form Defender in the world 1/3 the price of a benchwarmer at City!

It's due to the fact that if Jesus scores a goal in tournaments, he will score more points than Virgil would for defending.

I don't want to spam it, but if you click that guide I linked in my other comment, it explains the tournament process etc. (such as points scored per action)

When you buy a pack do you get a completely random mix of players or will it be bench warmers for the likes of villa and Norwich? Perhaps there is a total value and the players will be divided up to automatically make up that total?

Hi @Remmie

You do get a completely random selection, in addition to guaranteed tournament coupons.

If that's not your thing, you can build your collection using the trading market.

If you do open your 50 player pack, please post your results here as I love seeing the pack openings!!

There are different pack levels, the most expensive pack having the highest chance for a legend. These are displayed before you purchase a pack.

Opened my free pack and the good news was I got my boys Snodgrass, Antonio and Vardy. No Troy Deeney though unfortunately.

Bad news was I got half the Everton team (some of them twice!) and the slobbering goon from Spurs.

Brilliant haha!!

The best thing you can do next is enter the free rolls. I'll be here if you need any assistance with how anything works.

So I haven’t got a clue about any of this but I’ve now got Sadio, Trent, Alisson, Neco Williams, Harry Wilson and some kid I’ve never heard of, plus a load of players from other clubs.

I got two Jordan Pickfords though. I didn’t even want one, but what am I going to do with two? Stick them together so he’s got normal length arms?

It's time to do a little guide for the do's and don'ts, including a bit more of a tutorial, to help you out.

If you don't have time to read, which is fully understandable, I've got a YouTube video. But be warned, I'm from the Midlands!

Starting off on Footstock

Once you've registered (You can click here to register) you will receive a message stating that you've unlocked the sign up bonus. It advises you to head to the shop area, where you'll find your starter pack.

This starter pack contains 50 Bonus players, which can be entered in tournaments and virtual battles, but more on those later.

After unlocking your bonus pack, your dashboard will still remain partially locked, but footstock will perform a tutorial for you, unlocking them slowly.

Collection

Next, you can view your collection. This will show you what cards you currently hold, enabling easy viewing. It reminds me of collecting my Panini stickers some years ago! Not much more to say about the collection.

Market

The next thing to open up is the market. This is your area for buying and selling cards. It's definitely a way to make money on Footstock, if you can spot the next star, or player in form, there's a great chance you'll find him at a much cheaper price.

You can place buy and sell orders, buying players at prices you want & selling them at your designated profit point.

For example, Fabinho is £1.49. If you didn't want to purchase him at that price, you could set a Buy order for £1.30. You won't own Fabinho until another trader decides to sell Fabinho for £1.30.

After purchasing him at £1.50, you might take a look around and see Keita is £3.05. You could then comparatively value Fabinho at around £2.80 and place your sell order at that price. He wouldn't leave your collection until another trader bid £2.80.

Tournaments

Currently, there's no football being played, so when you click tournaments you'll see virtual games etc. These virtuals use previous match data, but it's virtual so anything can happen.

When football returns, this will be populated with real games & true to life data.

Tournaments range from free rolls to £40 entries, where you can enter as little or as many as you like. Prizes vary from £300 to £15,000.

Games

This area is the casino styled area, only head here if you fancy your luck!

In the games area you can play stat roulette, which is very similar to the Top Trumps game. Enter your card, if he wins the chosen stat, you win the card.

Again, these stats are based upon an average of the Points Per Game (from real life data).

My tip here, is don't roulette expensive players. Ever.

I have good spells with Jordan Ayew but he's £20+ per card, it hurts when he does lose!

Stat roulette can be played against the house, or in online tournaments. These go up to a 32 man contest, where you. Have the chance to win lots of cards!

There's also virtual battles which are very similar to tournaments, pick your fantasy lineup and hope they achieve the highest score.

Rewards

Finally, the rewards tab. This is where you're given prizes for completing specific milestones. For example, you'll be given a Free Epic Defender for owning a certain amount of players.

I know this has been long, so thanks! If you require any more on the strategy of the game, or finer tuned details just let me know.

Did you get those from the bonus pack? It's almost as if they've given you a fine tuned Kop one haha!

Hahaha that's brilliant. You can hold as many cards of a certain player as you want to, they're kind of duplicates but they're also very useful. When you enter a tournament, your players become locked. Whilst you'll never lose them in the tournament, it means you can't put Pickford in 3 tournaments, if you only have two cards.

You'd be a brave man putting Pickford in though!

I'll be honest this weekend was a bit of a turnup for the favourites.

However, there were some successes in the Virtual Sunday Beginners, the person that finished 1st chose a team full of Bournemouth players.

There should still be freerolls when real football comes back, so I would definitely come back then and have a look. It's a lot more fantasy football than virtual.

Fully understand if it's not for you, though!

These modern things that link a players worth due to how much they are in the media and all that vaccuous bollocks are ripe for being manipulated and organised groups sweeping up the money. I am not a fan of fantasy football personally but at least its linked solely to incidents from on the pitch and doesn't rely on the garbage off it.
