It must be something that happened in the 80s. 

 

My brother worked for the civil service pension scheme in the late 90s & early 2000's and would do the cases of people who had left the civil service in the 80s. 

 

He handled loads of cases for prison officers and looked at the photos on their files, he even photocopied them to show him and his mates.

 

One fella was 22 and looked like Tosh from the Bill. Another looked like Fredo Corleone despite being 25. The best one was some black fella with grey hair and a beard who looked like one of those Eddie Murphy barbershop characters and he was 28. 

 

It wasnt as if the stress of being a prison officer had done it as the photos were taken while they were training at some college in Rugby.
