Can the Misc double on an instrument and still be labelled a "lead vocalist?"

I think so, isn’t that what you’ve done? As long as you have one lead singer who isn’t playing an instrument then I’m reading the Misc as being whatever you want it to be.

Neither of Tony’s are playing an instrument anyway.

@Sugar Ape Doesn't seem that way according to his last reply.

Which would mean guys like Fogerty for you, Prince for ArDja, Van Morrison for No 2 are relegated to backup duties only.

I had Fogerty and Harrison down as backing vocals only anyway. Just seems to be semantics, designate someone lead singer and just put vocals next to anyone else would seem to be the easiest way?

I think if you want two people to be able to sing lead they cannot be playing an instrument.

So

Yeah Prince was a better guitarist than he was a singer.. I’m happy with him just focusing on shredding.

Thom Yorke probably is not the most gifted vocalists in the world... but he does have a very distinct voice and he’s very versatile. His bread and butter is rock, but he’s dabbled in many genres; hip hop (collabs with Flying Lotus and MF Doom), his own releases have been mostly dance-inspired electronica.

You have one main lead singer who doesn’t play an instrument. The miscellaneous pick can be shitting into a bin while playing the triangle for all I care.
