I'd have more sympathy with the affronted great British public if their immediate response to hearing about it wasn't to say they'll vote for Nigel Farage who gets a million quid a year from GB News, or would happing "bring back boris" who's appetites for the trappings of state make Caligula look like a monk.

Starmer is PM and should be held to account. I voted Labour and I'm affronted he's acted in this way, regardless of what the cunts in the other parties get up to.

Yeah, all the "we need to make tough decisions" spiel is ridiculous when you're taking £120k worth of freebies and saying you'll carry on doing so. It's like he's thinking he's going to jack this PM lark in in a year or 2 and needs all the clothes and concerts he can get his hands on.

I agree, he's not good at politics. At all.

Most important phrase here is 'central tenets'. Basically this is all rumours and after dinner drinks bollocks and somebody with an axe to grind.

Very much so.

I find it very interesting that they have taken a stance of justifying....

I guess the question is, 'what does that have to do with anything?', because it certainly doesn't seem to matter to the BBC.

even the likes of ch 4 are going heavy on it.

bizarre.

considering that fat mess johnson didnt pay for anything when in office, the outrage from the right media over "freebies" is precdictably hypocritical.

However part of his whle "appeal"was to clean up politics, i think starrmer ignoring this issue is going to damage him

has sue gray actually done anything wrong?

Yes she has. Legally wrong, no. But when you’re part of the policy making advisory team and you’re putting pensioners at risk, then taking a massive wedge for yourself, well….

The most disappointing thing here is that we criticised the Tories every time they put their snouts in the trough. But here we are, after 14 years of them and a new government that was supposed to bring hope, and we have a chancellor who’s boarded the austerity train, and MPs and advisers with their snouts in the trough.

Nah that's totally different mate. She's an employee not a politician. It's like when the Taxpayers' Alliance go on about "town Hall fat cats" and it's like a health director or some shit pulling in 80k or whatever and they could probably be getting more for far less aggro somewhere else.

How can we simultaneously attract high quality civil servants and ministers while also having them earn less than those who are impacted by the policies they advise on? It’s a downward spiral.

The contempt people have for the public sector is driven by the likes of the daily mail and aimed at dismantling the state.

Council staff etc get absolute dogs' abuse day in and day out yet they're the people who keep our towns and cities functioning (some better than others I grant you).

What aggro is she getting other than a few headlines she clearly doesn’t give a fuck about? She’s in private Labour Party meetings most of the time, not facing down the local piss head who wants to argue about his council tax.

Unfortunately half the country are living on the breadline so he just looks a complete cunt, living it up on free tickets, hospitality and whatever else.

Yes, the actual amount of money he's taken is obviously a fucking irrelevance in the grand scheme of things but he just looks like such an utter cunt and helps to further cement the "they're all the same" argument.

As Sec has said, he's fucking dreadful at politics.
