Could the UK soon have the most working-class cabinet of all time?

More than three-quarters of the shadow cabinet attended state schools – in stark contrast to Sunak’s government.

Hmm, who cares? The greatest PM this country has ever seen was a blueblood, his sidekick was from the S.Wales valleys. If they receive praiss yet still promise to protect the rich and the wealthy at the expense of the poor then enjoy paying the same rates as those in Kennington. I'm sure the people in Kennington will show appreciation for the generosity.

I'm sure if the reverse was true and they were mostly privately educated you'd be on it like a cheap suit.

It's full time goalpost movery from your corner of the Internet.

Honestly couldn't care less. Harold Wilson put blueblood Tony Benn in the cabinet. Starmer would've found a way to have him expelled from the party.

Oh well that's the 'utopia' of 'progressive liberalism' out the window. The Ted Heath tribute act here we come. It wasn't enjoyable then and I'd predict it won't be enjoyable now.

No idea why you’re expressing surprise.

True. Plus I suppose at least he's being honest.

I just hope those at the top of the Labour government finally get cajoled and questioned by the Labour supporters who've staunchly defended these policies even after it was obvious the election was in the bag.

I put this on the other thread but if the likes of Reeves and Streeting believe they can go down the same old road this could quickly turn sour and supporters blind loyalty won't be enough to paint the pig.

I'm beginning to think that, perhaps, the EU have said "Non!" to a number of Starmer's closer alignment on a number of areas ideas. Not surprising, seeing as though the commission has a few things on its plate at the moment

I'm just surprised we could go down the Tufton Street monetary policy route. We shall have to see what happens in the coming months.

The more Starmer says he won't go back in the EU, the more people will demand it. It's psychology. Britain didn't lock down until people were literally begging for it, then it was made to look like our idea. The social scientists are all over that shit.

Yep and anyone else who's remotely left wing and believes in social justice.

I shall be voting the same way as you and Benali Hamdache tomorrow.

Perfectly put by Ben.

Good start; and if it upsets the cunts at the Telegraph, that's a bonus.

Yes, but I wonder what impact Sunday’s run-off vote in France May have on any plans for safe routes.

The French will come through and the Centerist/Left working coalition will win, but French politics is about to get a rocket up the arse especially if Melenchon is anywhere near the top table with leverage.

Lovely stuff.
