Optics.

He's already planted the seed and the Mail crowd won't follow the logic.

But, specialist counter terrorism units aside, the Met police deal with crimes in Greater London. I know London is big, but I don’t think it stretches to Durham.

No he hasn’t.

You're using your brain, stop it.

We're already one step down the road of 'sham investigation', because Bridgen tweeted it, and he will have heard that uttered elsewhere.

Starmer should ask the government to set out their case against him, live at PMQs.

Your target is this guy.  Not the law, not justice. Reframe this bollocks so this guy doesn't nod vigorously when he reads "DURHAM DISGRACED" on the front page of the Mail.

This man thinks he's a self-made genius and will ignore laws and experts to keep his ego intact.  He voted Tory, ergo he will not easily let reality intrude his thoughts.  Make him start to question it.  Bridgen is feeding that man easy meat.  Don't let him do it.

Tories actually profiled these clowns didn't they? Was something along the lines of: "Admires the Queen and Alan Sugar."

We need some kind of Lord Nelson/Barbara Windsor hybrid.

It's a ballsy move..he must know for certain he didn't break any rules.

Its brought into sharp focus the morals of that wife beating cunt in no 10.

Sadly we live in a country populated by simpletons who don't seem too bothered about being governed by a walking car crash.

Good move by Starmer, had to be done, couldn't let that drag on for the six weeks it's apparently going to take the police to investigate. I thought Starmer should have made his statement earlier but after letting Wes Streeting go out and make a cunt of himself across all the tv channels yesterday he might have got the timing spot on.

Whether he is the right man to lead labour or not he has 100% made the right move. There is no risk this is politics you are either right or wrong  or on one side or another. The conservatives have successfully cultivated the grey areas to their advantage eg brexit is now framed as well we didn't know what we were signing up to but we went ahead anyway knowing it would have to be fixed later shite.  Whether starmer is fined or not it draws a line in the sand at  least with integrity in politics  . It's a start.

Wasn’t the delay from between Friday when he found out then Monday when he confirmed it? So, like, the weekend?

This was rumbling in the week before the council elections, you'd have thought he'd be prepared for all possible scenarios and been ready to instantly react, but he's got there and done the right thing so good on him.
